InactiveGood job on banning a spammer. I don’t quite understand how this is done? not as if I want to do it but I run my own forum as well. What do I look for? Last night after reading you post, I was crying laughing, you are quite the character. I love reading your reponses. Greek39 from canada eh!

InactiveI went to the link. So basically it means hidden text being keywords that are not really relevant to your web page? Is this considered spamming? and this hidden stuff is viewable in your source code only. I am starting to confuse myself. Pet121

InactiveBasically it comes down to this…
Many individuals use hidden text to increase their keyword density. Things like:
online casinos online casinos online casinos casino bonuses casino online bonuses
only a whole lot of it. They use it to try to rank on the search engines.
This USED to work. Now most of the search engines will ‘ban’ sites who use text colored the same as the background because there is NO reason to do that unless you are using this type of black-hat practice.
Hope that helps some.
EDIT: The reason to remove this from the CAP forums is so that it did NOT effectively ruin CAP’s ratings. Hidden text looks bad for a site no matter who wrote that type of content.

InactiveThank you for enlightening me. I think I understand now. Basically a person will add keywords to their text web site and set them to to the same color as the background, thus viewers cannot seem them but search engines can. Very clever never heard of this before. I was worried I might have done the same thing by accident. So how does one find hidden text on a web site I find the whole thing stupid. It could help me because when my forum is up and running I don’t want the same thing happenning to me. Plus it would be useful to know for link exchanges. You are always great help and I deeply appreciate it. Greek39

InactiveWell you can highlight the entire page (crtl+a) and most times this will find hidden text unless it’s in the noframes or noscript tag, then you would have to view the source code to see this but one wouldn’t be able to use noframes or noscript unless he were the author of the page not just posting on a forum.
