I would like to see the churches of the US file suite for every single porn domain out there using this Kentuky sceme as a guide if they even consider ordering the domains, then of course I want to see all the major news sites seized if they say anything that may give the wrong idea to the public about any candidate or issue and so forth..
We are talking a massive landslide of litigation if this is allowed to happen or is not tossed out of court.
i agree mate, this is going to have some massive global repercussions.
although, the disadvantage of the online gambling market lies in the fact that US facing casino/poker operators wont risk sending their representatives to argue the case in court for fear of getting imprisoned. That kinda limits their options for arguing the case…

GuestThis is unbelievable but in the end only a speedbump.
as long as the US can’t control every single extension … the casinos will just migrate.big pain in the ass but thats all.

InactiveWhen will there be some common sense?
The national debt is horrendous. Legalizing such things as online gambling and collecting licencing fees and taxes would go a long way to alleviate that.

InactiveUntil now we have the ruling of a provincial Court (KY).
I can’t see how they will have enforcement power over registrars in other states or the ICANN.They claim that some casinos are running an illegal operation targeting KY residents, but that sole statement is not IMO enough to take action in a national or global manner.
If the registrar is weak the KY ruling will prevail, but there’s a long way to prove the illegalty etc.September 27, 2008 at 12:47 am #779971Anonymous
InactiveUS federal law requires every state to enforce a court order from another state, unless it can get federal ruling giving it jurisdiction. US doesn’t allow people/corporations to “cross state lines” to avoid legal rulings in another state.

vladcizsolMemberMuch as I love Bourbon and good Kentucky Whiskey I am boycotting all Kentucky products until this foolishness stops. I think all gamblers online or offline should also boycott all horse races which are run in the state of Kentucky.
Hell, lets boycott KFC too for the time being.
