InactiveI wish I had had the money to get in on some McDonalds franchises in prime big city locations. If you have one of those you have to make sure you buy a big vault for all the cash otherwise it will burst pretty quickly.

Inactivethat seems so overdone, but of course they are all moneymakers. Im looking for things with a smaller startup cost, and really no franchise fee’s

InactiveI have 2 similar ideas but am wondering if they would work.
Probably not but I like to tell them.A cinema with big arm chairs in.
Not the usual chairs where you can’t sit comfortable.
Big arm chairs. And small tables for drinks and food.Another idea is a pub or bar with big arm chairs and sofas in.
An inventory like in a living room to feel real comfortable in.I am not sure if this would be profitable but it would be nice.

biggygMembercat they have had such a theatre in toronto for many years , down in the hazelton lanes /yorkville area where all the rich people live.My friend and i went there about 11 years ago ,they bring a card that you check your snacks that you want to purchase and they bring them to you.No worry about trying to carry all that food.back then i think it cost the two of us about $60.00 for movie and snacks.

InactiveAn elite search engine. Unfortunately this one is financially extremely demanding.
The idea is to gather all the very best sites online on all the different topics and make a deal with them. If they block the google, yahoo, etc bots we pour a ton of money into publicly advertising them.
Sites would have to be hand picked and only be available in our search.
One could flood the media with ads poiting out how this is a one stop search engine and listing individual sites, rotating them.
It would only work if one could have the funds to advertise solidly for a couple of years, major publications, TV etc etc. Go all in.
Limited funds would kill this in no time.
Ok, so it’s probably impossible.

Inactiveheres one i found out about recently and have been waiting for this to come out for ages.
I’m lazy when it comes to shopping and cooking (when single that is – as shopping / cooking is ok if your doing it for more then one person + you share the duties normally) – so i have takeaways quite alot, well im so bored of chinese, indian or pizza.
So this new company set up a relationship with about 40 local restaurants and uploaded there entire menues online. I can now order a takeaway from any of the 40 resturants = million times better choice now. This company charges you £4.50 and they order on your behalf, pick it up and deliver it to you.
Now making £4.50 per delivery wont make your business rich, but i bet they also get a 20% cut of the bill too as now the restaurants will be glad for the new takeaway orders and business and not have to employ a driver etc
Of course this business model will only suit certain areas
also you can buy sweets / drinks / tobacco and other stuff from them which they stock themselfs.

We already have a company here (netherlands, utrecht) that offers something similar.. Can’t remember the site, but I’ve came across it once..
But I guess that the deal with most good ideas, somewhere, somebody already thought of something similar.. I do this alot with a friend of mine.. think of new and possible buisiness.. Most of the time one of us has an idea and the other says, oh.. but that already excist, or there is a similar idea around..
The fun thing however is that if you manage to come up with that one great idea (to set up a site where people upload video’s ) You are ready to get the money trown to you..

InactiveHere’s one I have actually tried and it works well. You have to be willing to hang on the phone all day though, and that made it too similair to a business I had previously and I got tired of it quickly.
But, it generates decent income and one can do it most anywhere. The volume you can do is only limited by the size of population in your region.
It was a handyman service. I simply ran classified ads in all the local papers asking handimen to register with us. They had to be licenced, experienced and bonded. They came forth quickly, hoping to pick up some business when they had a lull.
Then I ran ads in the same places offering the service. It only took a couple of weeks to launch and cost me maybe $300. I also hung notes on supermarket bulletin boards and such places.
It got really busy really fast. People always need stuff fixed, and handymen often are not to be found or they are too busy to come right away. By having some 30 guys I could call up I was able to fill demand really fast. Lots of stuff that needs fixing doesn’t require a skilled professional but just someone who is willing to do it. Used to be we had husbands for that.
Anyway, you do have to learn local laws governing this stuff and what type of licences are required for what kind of work etc. I would take 10% off the top of their earnings. They would stay busy. The custmers got fast, reliable service. It worked like a charm. People would stay loyal to the service and call back whenever something broke. Beats calling around looking for someone or being made to wait.
The headache was coordinating it all. I really didn’t want to run another agency so I quit when I didn’t need the money anymore, but it could have easily been grown to employ people to handle the phones and such.
It’s done all the time with maid services and such, but you’ll be surprised that you don’t find these for handymen, where the demand is so huge most anyplace.
I shoulda franchised it.

Yes – one of our mainstream theatre chains has this – it’s a “gold lounge” with quality food nibbles, beer and wine. Priced at about $25 a seat (food and drink extra) compared to normal prices of $10. It’s fun for a special occasion.February 17, 2008 at 3:04 am #761078Anonymous
InactiveThis is the right idea guys, for those who stated yeah it was a great idea but already here, thats the point to try to get idea’s that are not already ion your area!
Luxury bars are around here, candle lit rooms with sofas and such.. The movie theater idea is good, we once looked into a movie theater / bar idea with stadium style booths, so you can have about 6 to a booth with full bar service,, never did anything with the idea though..
Anyone ever look into a car wash.
