    I was aware of that.

The NFL is in knee deep.

    Is anyone else involved?

If the NFL is protecting its fantasy football interests, would that have been why online sports books execs had initially been targeted? Article mentions it started around 2000-2001.

Rather then stopping and just going after sports books to protect its fantasy football interests, did “someone” decided to put all forms of online wagering into the one melting pot?

There is just so much depth in who, why, and when things happened to lead up to 30th Sept.

I’d love to see a factual timeline if anyone has the time? It would show who is involved, and what happened when.. and why things happened as they did.

It’s the land based casinos that did this to us. Remember that…

Yup, the big boys never forgot what they learned from

playing Monopoly as kids … most of the online gambling

executives must have been playing Snakes and Ladders

    instead as kids.

I have heard a defence to the land based casinos targeting the internet gaming sector (we really could be classed as a sector, considering our size!)…

    thinking out aloud here –

I have heard a couple of times that we are healthy for land based casinos, spawning a whole new generation of players, more specifically poker players – and in the future more players! I cant remember another instance where the internet has crossed over to the real world in such successful and dramatic fashion… not to mention how quickly it happened. (all benefits)

Could it be a situation where land based started something that they couldnt stop once it started rolling?

I have heard the name Harrahs come up a number of times in relation to internet gambling. Im not sure to which politicians they have contributed $$$’s to(or if they have), but I thought is it possible that the money they contributed was in relation to something else?

Not that I am defending Harrah’s, :fencing: but I am full of questions, and what if’s.

Harrahs and other land based gaming companies financed this new regulation by contributing heavily to the coffers of the Senators and Representatives who championed these bills.

Its the land based operations that had the most to gain by this new law. Period. Follow the money. The NFL had nothing to gain by this at all. And guess what? It’s STILL legal to wager on NFL games at LAND BASED CASINOS.

The same type of player that visits a land-based casino is the same type that is apt to play online. 6-12 billion was getting too hard to ignore.
