Hi,
When I started as a casino affiliate 6 months ago I didnt know exactly what I was doing. The most important advice I can give to you newbies is use seochat.com and their keyword tools, keyword cloud, keyword density etc. Focus on the keywords and that will produce results.

my simple advice to noobs is this:

1- be patient.
2- be good (no blackhat/spam)
3- participate in relevant forums, and build up a reputation as someone who cares about their players.
4- of course read up on seo etc.
5- launch a properly optmised site. hire a designer and a developer who know what they are doing. instruct the developer how you want the html to be seo’d.
6- remember content is king – without good content ur site is sh1t.
7- don’t pretend to the #1 authority site for poker/slots/ whatever. you are a newbie – wait until you have a good userbase and masses of traffic and useful content before making daft claims
8- have fun – ! you will learn a lot, make a lot of new friends and of course you will set yourself up for life if you do everything correctly.
