ZlzmbmaxMemberHey There, my advice would be to increase the font size on the homepage and consider a different font as well.
Your Home Page is your first impression to the viewer and at the moment it appears difficult to read. If the page looks as if it’s going to be fiddly to navigate then some people will just click the back button straight away and go elsewhere.
I see that you’re harvesting email addresses which is a really smart move and can give you many more marketing opportunities further down the road.
However, it is not immediately clear ‘what’ you are asking them to sign up for.
There is an RSS feed button right above it so what’s the email field for?… a newsletter? a prize draw? more spam?
Make it really obvious what you are offering in return for their details. People aren’t really going to give out that information in advance if they don’t know what its for.
Maybe, let them know it’s gonna be for an awesome monthly newsletter crammed full of all the latest news and offers so that they have a good reason to sign up to that.
Then go away and start working on the very best newsletter you can write. Your early efforts may not be fantastic but keep going and writing and re-writing and will start to take shape. Sign up for newsletters at other good sites that you admire and see how they do it, then think again about you can make your efforts equally as good but different.
Try to think about if there is a niche or angle that isn’t being covered that you could serve. It’s not all that difficult to come up with links for news items and offers these days. Whats more of a challenge is finding a way to keep this new and inventive so that your readers perceive some value in this and actually want to read them.
Well that’s what I think, hope you find it constructive.
