voodoomanMemberI entered the following search query “secure online poker” and got results for the IT industry only.
I don’t like the “feel” of this search engine but maybe it’s still early days. Would be great if they do become successful so that Google can have some extra competition.
Also got this error message:

InactiveI tried it out today, the categorized display is a good idea, though their index or algorythm seems a bit choppy to me, as the results are full with unrelevant websites if you search for some not so mainstream keywords…
On the other hand I would really love someone could give Google some competition, this monopolized SE market is scary…

YoungT.jrMemberGiving it a chance, submitted my sites to be crawled, have to do via email form so not sure how many eons it will take. Let’s see what happens. Hard to take down a monster but… worth a shot to get some uniques!

InactiveNot too impressed with cuil.com …
But I like the look of Scour.com.
It compares the results of several serch engines, and also has a social element built in with voting …
They even give you “points for using it” … mind you you need 6,500 points to get $25 … but it’s a nice idea.
TRy out Scour.com and see what you think.
(BTW that using link above will give me about 50 points – nearly a whole US cent).

babacarMemberNice gimmick to get the people to try out their search engine. If the search results are relevant then it could grab a small piece of the search engine pie which is enough if its a small start up.

type “online casino” and you will see that 888.com is not in top results of Google and Yahoo, but 888.com is on the first position in GoogleAugust 8, 2008 at 10:31 am #775035Anonymous
