    WOW

What a surprise to see Fortune Affiliates and Referback as new certified members 😮

I don’t know about the “who” but if I am not surprised at their timing.

Fortune is suppose to be releasing a new tracking program (so perhaps this time they are more certain about it. Or at least certain enough about it that they are willing to come here. I hope its a good thing.

As for RB, well I’ve recently had two pretty good months with them and I’ve heard talk that others have had similar experiences which if there is truly a pattern seen forming there: that it would stand to reason they are wanting to bring the strays back into the fold.

What kinda scares me about all this; is if this is more than coincidence that these two things should come together at the same time, then it tells me that they haven’t changed their ways one bit and its more of the same with a “new and improved” label slapped on it.

Shoot I want to make money with these programs and would much rather spend my time praising them than not; if you didn’t see in their welcome thread; i’m already trying to show them that I want to get along and that I want to promote them.

And I do. But for me it will likely be a slow process because I’m so damn afraid of the results I will see 2 months down the road after I’ve spent a bunch of time and effort getting their casinos back on my pages.

In other words, I’ll list them in a limited number of spots for the next 6 months and then see where I stand.

So far, whether out of incompetent tracking or by purposeful intention to cheat us, neither group has ever proven to be overly-generous in profit to us per player: and since it would take a considerable, no, it would take a head-turning profit – and not just a month or two, but on a steady basis: in order to get me in the mindset of wanting to slap all the casinos from either group up in my prime spots…

If clues lead me to to assume they are deciding what I should be paid as opposed to my getting a true % of net win, then it is also easy to assume then that they were doing likewise back when I DID have them in good spots. And if back then they couldn’t justify paying me more than the measily income that I saw from them, then they won’t be able to justify paying me that much now; over a long haul.

So I figure if I give them limited exposure and see what happens, that if they don’t prove to have a solid bottom line for month after month, that I will not be out too much because the minute they don’t produce, they come down.

Of course, this is all contingent on my current top producers. If current producing casinos continue in same fashion, then it would be a rather foolish move to take them down and put up something that has already proven in the past to be questionable.

Fortune has been waiting for months to join CAP and it was contingent on them fixing their stats issues. They are set to release the new stats package any day now so we agreed to let them start. You guys know how soundly I have paddled them in the past over their stats. This time I think they really have fixed them or I wouldnt have let them on board.

As far as Referback goes I earn five figures with them every month and there are dozens of affiliates who do so also. They are another good program (when Jon Jon was there they were the best MGS program online) who got complacent and suffered.
They are making a real effort to get things back on track and have improved greatly over the last three or four months. My conversions have doubled with them, so either their tracking is better or they have improved the landing pages and bonus offers enough to stimulate sales. Yes, its fun to kick their ass on the boards, but Referback is still a very viable program and a decent offering. They are also very aggressively promoting poker and offering good webmaster perks so I think they are a good fit for certification.

We’ve been doing well with Referback for quite some time. As for Fortune, they still don’t admit to me that they lost our high rollers at Havana Club, we went from a very nice check monthly for 3-4 months in a row from Havana to nothing, zilch, no players when Fortune took them over.
Their poker stats suck, they change 3x a day. One minute we show 3 new real poker players, the next day it’s 0….they used to reply to me regarding those “lost” Havana players, now for months no one even takes the time to reply.
If it wasn’t for Derek and Wayne staying in touch with me about the poker rooms, we would of dropped them a long time ago.

Edited to say, I don’t mind giving them a chance here, but those new stats better be quite a bit more accurate.

Fortune is supposed to launch the mother of all stats soon. I am very curious – they have been working on it for over a year now. I gave them a lot of input some time ago, as did a lot of other affiliates.

They know their stats are wonky – that is why they have not joined any sooner. It is impossible to defend these stats, and they know it.

So – should be any day now….

    NOW Fallen Star? 😮

Both Fortune and Golden Totally screwed me over after I told them off – with golden it was much worse!!!

I was making about $1000 a month with them when I pissed Marlo off – after that my traffic stopped converting and all my players stopped playing – INSTANTLY!!!!!!!!

HOW CAN a program that does that be CERTIFIED?

I know I dont have much room to bitch (this isnt my site) but damn what deems some of these programs to be worthy? A nice check?

Yep I was making money with them also and saw a sudden drop off. I have since stopped promoting them and even gave them the nickname fallen star network.

I wen’t ahead and let Marlo have a forum and limited access because they are doing well for a number of our members. DVS, Playsafe, Captain, Krystal and a few others have indicated they have decent earnings with these guys. We don’t run their banners on the CAP site or affiliate network and wont be giving them a big push, but in the interest of improved communications I agreed to the forum deal.

As long as you guys remain professional and provide details of the problems you have had with them I have no problem with taking Marlo to task about specific issues or the programs performance. Just dont make it a personal boot party.

That sounds fair enough lou … however my main problem is misleading newbies with the “certified” label.

I dont think its deserved least of all by Marlo and GSN.

Personally I dont care to ever speak with Marlo again – hes scum! I will however put my boots on if the need / situation arises.

Until that time I will be at peace and respect your wishes.

I would have to agree with Arkyt … the ” Certified ” label

is a great dis-service to the newbies … affiliate beware

    would be more accurate.

Yeah I stopped short of full certifcation by nixxing the banners but was swayed by the argument that they wanted a forum to improve communications with their affiliates.

We will play this one by ear. They have a three month trial run and we may not renew their forums if I dont feel like its benefiting anyone.

Guys hang in with this until tomorrow I just talked to sales and we have a solution whereby Fallen Star will have a fourm for communications, but will not be listed as a certified partner. If this doesnt work for them then we will be refunding their money.

Let me work out the details and move things around in the morning.

Ok based on your feedback we have changed Golden Star Network’s status from a CERTIFIED partner to Casino member. This is more descriptive of our position on them anyway and should not confuse newbies…

Sounds like a good solution to me, Professor!

It is a good solution. I can list 3-4 programs we feel are totally shafting us, but some of you all do great with them.
On the flip side we do okay with several that you all are talking about in this thread and others that many don’t do well with.

I don’t think there’s one program out there that all of us will agree isn’t shaving or screwing some of us. It sux but that’s the way it goes unfortunately.
