I think your site is great.

If you are not getting enough sign ups you should consider changing to programs that offer a better conversion rate.

OK I will look into that, but the programs I am promoting are solid casinos from good programmes but maybe I need to rethink it. Out of interest what is the best converting casino/poker room/bingo/sportsbook for you?

Site looks very nice, however it is horrible from an onsite SEO standpoint imo (and it’s this you need to address for better rankings)

1- Code to content ratio is bad (homepage). Some serious bloat going on there with tables, embedded JS and so on.

2- you are leaking pagerank. Although pagerank sculpting is not massively advantageous, consider nofollowing your affiliate links.. and perhaps moving them to a htaccess file for easy updating (u link to yoursite.com/pokerstars which redirects to stars, so you only need to update once if you need to change your stars affil URL for example)

3- the word “casino” is mentioned a LOT, you might get a penalty for kw stuffing altho the word is mainly in the OBLs and title tags for them…

4- Your description is a bit rubbish… maybe edit it to say “casino reviews” rather than reviews etc.. you want a few of your target keywords in there..

5- Meta information.. – What meta information!? :)

just a few suggestions, it looks damn fine on the outside tho. GoodLuck with it – with a few small tweaks it will be as sexy on the inside as it is on the outside.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for those suggestions but I’m a bit confused.

    1) This is what confuses me the most, surely any dynamic page will have a bad content to code ratio, so if my whole site is dynamic then I guess I’m screwed :-(. I’m only using javascript for my adverts using the phpadsnew which I figure is a fairly standard tool and I have certainly heard that other people are using it. As for the bloated tables I’m not sure how else to do this but I’d love to here some suggestions.

    2) I am using nofollow on all the links to the casinos, the idea about using redirects is a good one though and I might look into that although it would get a bit complicated for my site as the different languages sometimes have slightly different aff codes.

    3) As you pointed out casino is mentioned a lot of times but only in anchor text linking to the casinos, is this still bad? I’m not sure how I can change this.

    4) Sorry what do you mean my description, do you mean the title in the head section or the meta description?

    5) The comment about meta information has me really confused, I was told to just use meta description as meta keywords are apparently irrelevant these days, is this wrong?

Thanks for your help with this, I am very keen on getting this site ranking well and any further assistance will be very useful.

    Hi Highroller,

If you say you getting good traffic but zero conversions then surely your traffic is not targeted. Are you running any sort of analytics program to figure out what keywords are hitting your site or where the traffic is coming from.

I went through your code and couldn’t pick up that you have any analytics on your homepage but I may have missed it amongst the code. That could help you figure out why your traffic isn’t converting.

With regards to meta tags, its still important to make sure you have the basic SEO principles in place, like a good page title and relevant description with the right keywords in your meta tags. This along with your alt text, title tags, h1 tag, good clean coding and a few other basic principles is a good way to lay your SEO foundation when building a site.

However, you stated that your traffic isn’t converting so I recommend you analyse your traffic. You can use goodle ananlytics for that. If you need some help, let me know.

    Kind regards
    Duwayne

Yes I am using Google analytics on all my pages, what particular stats should I be looking out for?
I actually thoght the seo on my pages was good and clean so I’m very interested in hearing where I am going wrong. I am using the same meta description on almost all the pages, this is basically down to laziness, and I will be changing it in the future but can it be penalized?
I am using an seo company at the moment who are advising me on seo etc and also providing me with links so I’m starting to think that maybe they aren’t very good, can someone maybe recommend a good seo firm?

the same meta tags on pages is definitely bad – won’t get u penalised, but won’t help you much either.

In google analytics, you’ll see which search engines are directing traffic to you and also which keywords are getting you hits. Also there are many other handy analytics google provides you with If you’d like me to go through this with you via phone or msn, let me know and we can make a plan.

Dont beat yourself up to much about the SEO on your site, some of the things are fine and some things you can add or change but I’d first look at what kind of traffic you getting and why, and then start working SEO’ing your site according what traffic you looking for. This will take a bit of time to get right.

What keywords are people using to find you?

Although the URL suggests you cater for ‘High Rollers’ the site itself is more of a general beginner’s site.

If you’re ranking well for High Roller type terms (congratulations if you are!), you might want to consider speaking to some of your casino managers to see if they can come up with a tailored bonus that’s more suited to your target audience.

Although I’ve had £x,xxx level players who were initially attracted by eg the 1 hour free play bonuses, they’re not generally the ones looking to deposit huge amounts (that’s why they’re looking for free play!)

If you want to attract the higher stakes players, you have to give them something that no-one else can.

Thanks, that’s a good point, I am actually really in two minds about focussing exclusively on high-rollers or just making it general. I do actually rank fairly well for the term high-rollers everywhere except Google :-(
I think I need to think a bit more about this and maybe make a new section specificly about High-Roller bonuses and as you say try and get some special deals together.
