The other clause change about reduced payments at first looks reasonable but isn’t this just the thin edge of the wedge? Once they have made one major change to the T&C will they not feel like they can make further changes at a later date? This one also helps keep us in line for those future changes, if we don’t like a change that is made later then this clause will reduce the payments of those who protest by removing links. In short, a deal is a deal. Any retroactive changing of any terms for that affects negatively on players or affiliates regarding anything is the action of a rogue ~ to be avoided by everyone. Which as Croup points out is covered by the “new” terms nicely for future retroactive term reduction.
Also, proven thievery of an affiliates traffic, buy any means, should warrant the money made from such thievery, go straight to the stolen from party ~ by default. Is my first thought on the matter upon thinking about it for 1 moment, so excuse my cynicism ~ but this should already be in place ~ about 5 years ago. As it is not ~ great idea Wager.

Actually, the changes Greg wants to implement re. percentages paid are very reasonable. I have no real problems with that, it’s still a good deal. Also, Wager Junction has an escape cause in it’s T&Cs that allows the change of the T&Cs. There is no legal breach of contract, just a breach of trust.
The problem lies in the current climate in this industry. Croupier pointed out the problem very accurately above.
If one program gets away with it, they are setting a precendent. We are already seeing the beginning of an avalanche.
In this climate, you cannot trust programs anymore.

InactiveHello Guys
This going to take a little bit longer than i anticipated ,i need to review this with my partners and directors of the company and will do so and advise you all of the relevant changes.
That is one thing i did tell DOm ,i was going to send out a mailer regarding the changes.I was not sneaking it in through the back door ,RTG had an issue with uploading and told me they would get back to me ,they uploaded it and did not advise me .The Terms and Conditions within the program are my prechange ones and i will be taking this up with them
Have a great day and speak to you soon

InactiveOf course, take all the time you like to get this sorted, Greg.
I appreciate your taking this time.

You are definitely not sneeking anything in, I know. And your clause re. black hat SEO guys is super. And we would all like to see you as a member of CAP.
This is all about trust, and ours has been badly shaken recently.

InactiveGreg, I see this is still present in your T&C:
Quote:Wager Junction will only make payments to active affiliates; an active affiliate account is defined as an account which has generated a minimum of 1 new paying customer for the casino clients of Wager Junction within a 3 month period. If an account does not meet these requirements, at the sole discretion of Wager Junction management, future commission payments may be withheld.Any progress yet on this issue?

Many thanks. If you want to target the UK Market, overture UK allows you to have gambling related PPC ads. Expensive but very effective.

InactiveWell, Greg appears to be not online today – which is not surprising really given we have these terrorist attacks in London.
I hope all will be sorted in London soon. We can all understand the chaos and upset such attacks cause.
All my best to the UK!

InactiveHello Guys
What a tragic time it is ,but i guess its just the world that we are living in that is getting crazier or maybe im getting saner.
I have revised the terms and conditions on the site. The Major changes are as follows : I have added the following :
2.2 Copying of Sites and Theft of ContentDue to a major increase in the above a process has been set in motion to prevent events of this nature escalating. A panel of webmasters has been chosen and they in conjunction with the Affiliate manager will make a ruling on any complaints with regards to the above. If it is ruled that a partner/s has either copied a site/s or taken content without permission they will forfeit all earnings for that period to the complainant/s. We do require that the complainant/s provide full details regarding the complaint and the Affiliate Manager and Wager Junction Partner Panel will investigate it. The findings of this investigation will be final and no further appeals will be considered.
If you would like to know who the council members are you are more than welcome to email me ,i will be adding one further member and once that is in place i will put up a page on the WJ site. This councils main reason for bieng is to determine re cases of theft and copying.
I dont want to be seen to be acting unilaterally and i prefer it if a council of peers makes the ruling in conjunction with myself in any event.
One thing that i did leave in guys was the 3 Month ruling. That was one of the things that i inherited with WJ and have not got around to changing ,i admit i havenot spent the amount of time that i should have on the T&Cs :hitthefan
What i did do was take a look around at a few other Affiliate programs and i noticed that they had the same thing in their Terms and Conditions. I am not to sure why Wager Junction was held to account for having a term and condition like this ,which must be over 18 months old and others are not.Speaking to an Affiliate recently i asked him if this would bother him and he told me ,well all of you guys have it dont you.
So as soon as you guys post to other places and get them changed i will be more than happy to comply and i will lead by example by removing this particular portion of T&C .You can quote me on this to them.
I must add finally ,i dont like getting involved in any greater issue/s that you guys currently have with other affiliate programs. What i am doing and will continue to do is try to make revenue for my partners on the program. The actions that i am taking are not in response to the doings and goings on at other Affiliate programs rather they are based on a commercial basis.
I am always open to change and to discussion and really i think that we all have a role to play in this industry of ours. What i dont think is justified is the petulant behaviour that is sometimes displayed from both sides.
I am one of the programs that does not gain traffic using the various methods that are much spoken about on the forums these days yet i am held up to be some type of black sheep wiuth webmasters saying ,there goes another one of my main page. That really is uncalled for.
Lets speak guys and i can change whatever you want me to change if it is in the interests of WJ and its partners.
I look forward to hearing from all of you.
Best Regards

InactiveThis deserves a response that will take more time than I have in the next few days, as I’m travelling. Greg, thanks for the info, and I’ll get back to this thread when time allows.
July 8, 2005 at 2:41 pm #668244Anonymous
InactiveWell, we really need to start making some sort of list of which programs have which undesireable terms and which don’t.
Then we can all pick and choose what we want to put up with and not.
I am very unhappy with this reply, to the point of not wanting to even comment on it.

InactiveI’m going to shave my head because five other people in my neighborhood have. Until they grow their hair back, I won’t let one single strand grow again. :bored:
