StarBucksSportsMemberI agree. I think it’s a bit early.
Obviously it’s nice to have the domains, but I don’t think people will be turning a healthy profit off mobile gaming quite yet.
It’s been out there for a couple of years already, in fact MG (Spin3) has a fully operational mobile suite, and a couple of operators are running with it, but it hasn’t quite taken off.
I think if anything, mobile sports betting will be the first one to take off.

PerThornMemberMobile gaming… Its very niche and perhaps something to consider if you can corner the market. But I wont be spending any time on them soon!

voodoomanMemberIn the very near future, with the steady progress of technology, would you have to differentiate between “normal internet” and “mobile internet”.
IMO cell phones of the future will have the same internet capabilities as Laptops and Desktops.

The only thing that I can see becoming popular is Betfair mobile, they have so many in running markets in the UK anyways…punters can take advantage of the 5 sec bet delay if they are at the actual event themselves…many people bet nowadays when they are at the football on a Saturday afernoon.

I totally agree – My opinion is that the mobile device technology will leapfrog the games and technology being developed specifically for mobile gambling. In otherwords the mobiles will become so advance you will be on normal sites with normal iGaming software as opposed to specific mobile brands or sites.
Regarding affiliate sites on mobiles – I think there is big opportunity here. 1 year ago I would click where Orange sent me, now I am going to google on my mob and searching there and from what I see the mobile specific sites are already ranking higher there.
Oh and finally I 100% agree Betfair will be huge and for that matter all sports betting sites on mob – In fact ladbrokes is already doing a shed load of money on it – We did an article in iGaming Business a while ago on them and their mobile rev – I will see if I can dig it up

InactiveTechnology needs to catch up. When we have free wifi everywhere (trains, hotels etc) and when mobile providers make their data tarifs less of a legal extortion racket, then the market’s ready for mobile gaming. Until then, it’s a niche market. But you have to be in early to win in any new area. Speculate to accumulate. Or just ignore it.
I think there are two keys to mobile casino & poker : travel and boredom. Combine the two, give ’em free wifi, and you have an audience
3 years? Maybe a bit more…but I’m ready :hattip:
PS. I downloaded Laddies, Aces Royal and WJ, signed up and took them “out and about” on a road-test for a few months. Bottom line – good software, poor connectivity available, a bit fiddly – unless you are away for a while it’s easier to wait ’til you get home. Within a couple of months I wasn’t playing them. Also, after 4 months I changed phone and it wasn’t (yet) compatible anyway.
