For those wanting to check it out, here’s the URL:

If your search doesn’t work at first, try again a little later.

Well, I’m not thrilled with my position there, but it’s worlds better than at the old MSN where my main site was completely missing. I made the mistake of signing up for Looksmart PPC long ago. When I stopped paying Looksmart, my site was never seen at MSN again, until now.

I hope the search results stay as they are when it fully launches, I have some great listings :-)

    Those SERPS totally suck!

The .md sites have GR8 listings 😮 – sure appears that there are a lot of spammy sites up top! That rainbow bar is an eyesore – sure hope they thats not close to their final version. I figure its going to be clicked an aweful lot by competitors trying to sabotage you.

The alpha msn results are humiliating to msn. They are simply worse than you could have thought possible. The only thing that matters is domain name.

All this means is msn is much further away from launching a search engine than people thought.

Though I don’t have a great domain name… Got2Bet is ranking well for a key search term… so I have to say at this stage I can’t complain. I do, however, need to take a closer look at what’s making it rank so well.

They certainly favour the keywords in domain names.

I’ve got a few domain’s with funny extensions which don’t rank well or at all in google/yahoo. However there showing in the top 45-90 in msn with low link popularity. I’ve got one in the top 50 for “online casino”, so I guess it’ll be time to put some more effort into SEO’ing that site!

Also some of my domains that rank in the top 10/20 in google/yahoo that don’t have keywords in the domain don’t even appear in the top 150 in the msn results.

Maybe they will have a less link obsessed ranking model.. which would be nice, cause I’ve about had enough of the link popularity race.
