InactiveOOps, found the answer and it was easy! DUH!
Dunno why I like this so much better. Usually I like the Microsoft products better, like you can’t get me to like firefox. But openoffice rocks.

Inactivewhy do you like openoffice better?
my comp completely crashed while reading the gpwa/cap bashing thread at gpwa (the irony is beyond me) and i had to give it into service (something fried on my motherboard).
so i had to rent a laptop and its an xp where i’m using openoffice. coming from word, which i’ve used all my life, some things are weird in openoffice. like i cant figure out the #/dot/etc tabbing. when you press enter it should tab in a certain way and sometimes i can’t frikin revert it. quite frustrating actually
although it did take me more than a few years to conquer this feature in word too….so why is openoffice better again?

InactiveMaybe because I was never any good with word and open office seems easier to learn?

InactiveOpenoffice is very good but I get used to Word.
Once office 2003 is out of date I think I will switch to Openoffice.
The PDF print of Openoffice is very powerful.for Firefox and IE, I stick to Firefox. It’s far better than IE. Firefox 3.1 will release soon before 2009. I am looking forward to it.

when you dont want people to be able to edit your document.
when you want everyone to be able to view the document on any computer even though they might not have the program to view it (ie word, powerpoint, etc)November 24, 2008 at 9:40 am #788099Anonymous

As for Open Office v/s MS Office, i’ve worked with both but somehow find MS Office to be a whole lot easier to use. Perhaps it’s got to do with all the years of working with MS Office.
Oh and I tried to crack my MS Office 2007 trial version and ended up messing the whole suite. Reformatting my Hard Drive is just around the corner

OccughithMemberI am definitely an office 2003 user. 2007 is not for me, it is too heavy and they changed all the menus (I am lost !). As I am curious, I have tried openoffice yesterday. I like it but I have too many habits with office.
