I use this code to mask a link:

    NAME OF CASINO

But it keeps redirecting to my own website? What am I doing wrong?

    Please help

well you’re missing a single quote above – after the K in AFFILATE LINK.

    but try this
    NAME OF CASINO

Last question, can this also be done with a banner?

    Like normally I use

Please let me know if it isn’t to much trouble.

yes, you can use it for banners – here’s one I use for RA’s golden tiger casino

    target=”_blank” title=”online casinos”>
    online video slots

Throw in a rel=”nofollow” for the banners as well. You don’t want to be passing PR juice through those either.

I heard that follow or no follow doesn’t make any difference for my website?

If you don’t care about SERP placement and PR then dofollow or nofollow won’t matter yes. As long as you are striving for position in the search engines you PR will matter therefore dofollow or nofollow will matter as well.

I never thought of that. That’s good to know. some I just serve myself.

Does masking links increase conversions? Is there any data?

Not sure if there’s a research done, but you gotta admit that you will feel much more comfortable clicking on a link from the same domain like example.com/programx , than a link 50 chars long.

It also prevents URL injections and all sorts of ugly techniques with purpose of replacing your affiliate tag, with someone elses.

A bit of precaution, the masked link names should be very related to the URL. Google does not like something like example.com/bestcasinoprogram that points to programX, as it finds it as misleading and might slap you for that.
