biggygMemberThis is something that usually don’t work out for one or both people. You are better to pay for content like most of us do.I would recommend you get your layout together ,the program you want to use on the website and pay for the content as you can afford it.I use to make $20,000 a month on a 18 page websites so don’t think you need piles of content to get anywhere in this business.

I agree – buy your content, but if you do go that route, make sure it’s 100% unique!!

pc876MemberThanks for your replies:hattip:
I’m looking for a partner (it means that I’m sharing all commissions 50-50) able to write content and who could have some ideas to share as well. I handle all the webmaster and seo part.
One of the reason I’m looking for someone: lack of time to deal about everything by myself
and most of all: working as a team (even a small one) can boost the motivation (my case when we are talking gambling) and work.August 21, 2008 at 12:42 pm #776358Anonymous
InactiveHey all.. I’m back after a painful vacation.
While it may not seem logical theoretically to partner with someone (except if you need funding), I totally support you doing it, for a number of reasons.1- If you’re starting from scratch and have no money, no (or low) investment.
2- You can find someone that completes your weaknesses. He said that he’s good at programming but doesn’t have time / doesn’t want to write content. Sure, you may have made a killing with an 18 pages website, but it’s much easier said than done. Especially when everyone and their mother on this forum constantly say that content is key.
3- Much higher motivation if it’s someone you get along with. Money always causes tension, but if you can actually find someone trustworthy then sharing ideas, talking about plans, just talking about it in general is extremely amusing and motivating.
4- This is just my personal opinion, but I feel like a team provides better time management. In the sense that the nature of this business is that it takes time for websites to develop and grow to their full potential. Time and constant attention. Once your first website is up and has some content, your partner can keep it updated and make it grow while you’re starting a new one. Some recommend focusing on one website, which can also be a valid strategy, but imho you have better chances of hitting big if you build a network of sites that feed each other.
So.. don’t give up on it. I think it’s a great idea. Not necessarily the easiest route but it’s fine. I’m in some trouble right now otherwise I would have been very interested.
