InactiveHi bb1
This is a great idea. In fact, I’d say we can take it a step further. It should be pretty easy to put in place a rating system that colates the info provided.
Having said that, this conversion business is enough to drive anyone to drink. A good friend of mine and I regularly compare notes on conversions and its bizarre. We find that a casino that works for one of us is often a dog for the other. I suppose we get our traffic in idfferent places which contributes to this.
Please can you post (even if it is fictituous) an example. I’d be happy to participate.
On the issue of bullcrap from casinos. I had a funny one today. This player emails me with a bitch about a casino bonus issue (poor bugger did not read the terms). Anyway, he doesnt reflect in my stats. So i ask im if he signed up from my site and he says he did. I rang up the casino. They initially swore high and low that he came directly to them. I then thought what the hell, I’ll ask him if he’s willing to dispute it with them, which he did. They admitted to “an error” and bababoom – the man is in my stats!
This kind of thing makes me worry.

InactiveI think you should get your head together with Integrity on this.
It should be part of the APCW stats, it fits right into those aspects.
I like the idea a lot.

GuestHi,
I’m just seeing too damn many situations where I get to a certain level and then it stops climbing, despite the fact that I haven’t changed anything on my end.
That’s BULLSHIT!!! And put the word out now; we affs are searching for the program that lets us keep climbing. There is absolutely no reason things should level off; especially at the lower end of things.
Perhaps once you have enough players that are of same size : that the winners might somewhat knock down what you took in from the losers; but at the level most of us are at; we none of us have enough players (actively playing) where we should see our income be the same / or close to the same every month.
It just doesn’t make sense. ask any bookie and he’d tell you. It takes a lot on both sides of the coin to have an even keel weekend after weekend.
Most times its big win, big win, big loss, big win big loss big win; and that’s with the same clientele basically, the bookie didn’t have new players coming in at the rate we are sending them.
and i know damn well the slots aren’t going to payout out as much as if it were a sports game our players were betting on; where its a 1 of 2 choices to win.
and like I said, look at yourself, ask your friends that gamble; how many of them only gamble 1 or 2 times a week? or as some stats would have us believe; 1 or 2 times a month (Fortune Lounge comes to mind on that one).
people that gamble and that have it sitting in their house ready and waiting 24/7 are more likely going to gamble a little bit every day than to go gamble it all in one session and the walk away from it for a week or ten days.
Don’t insult my intelligence. I frickin’ hate that! If you’re gonna fuck me (sorry ladies) then at least have the decency to make an effort and make it look plausible.
If you got 5 – 10 active players and your stats aren’t moving nearly everyday; somebody is not only feeding you bullshit; but they are Lazy shits on top of that ! at least somewhat earn the money you’re stealing and get off your lazy fat ass and go change some numbers around once a day!
cause seriously! How many of you gamblers out there are able to stay away from the games for more than a couple of days at a time?
I’ll admit it. I can’t. And I’m one hard-headed SOB that actually can stay away, but not if I’m winning or staying fairly even. Which is why its so damn insulting when we see we have a winner and those stats are not changing all the time.
I guarantee you that 80% of those people are not able to stay away.
which brings me to the next point. on those months when they did win and our stats look like shit; the following month should not only be better than we expected the previous month to be; but should also have added on.
why? Ask yourself gamblers! Is it not true that most times after a big win; that within a period of time; depending on the amount of course; but within 30 – 40 days you’ve probably given either most, all or “and then some” back?
Be honest. Nobody here is judging you.
Well I know because I see what not only myself does; whom I consider pretty self-controlled in comparison to my friends and testers, but also what they do.
In fact; I’ve had these feelings for a long time and self-control has kept me from voicing them because I was afraid of getting screwed harder.
But I don’t care any more. My “partners” are either going to start doing me right; or I’ll end up with only 2 frickin’ casinos on my sites to offer; but you can damn sure bet i will be telling everyone why.
And I’ll live with the consequences.
Besides all that- folks, this ain’t gonna last forever. We need to be making the money now while its there to be made; for our partners it will always be there; but for many, many of us; it will not. (and I’m not gonna go into why; but trust me; there are enough reasons that its more likely than not)
************************
I suggested 4 – 6 months because it allows time for a bad month (or two) …. to be able to recover from that : and ideally, your commission under those circumstances should increase
like say in
Jan you made $1000
Feb = $3000
March = $5000
April = (-$3500)by the time May is thru; it should be showing around +$6000 -$7000 ; as opposed to showing an income of say… $5000 again.
of course; there’s always the possibility there was another winner; which is why it would be nice to hear from others their experiences.
to see if there is a pattern formed; or just bad luck.
but somebody tell me why it is that when I started out with nothing and began sending traffic; that I climbed easily to a certain point; and then it leveled-off?
Worse; I’ve places getting more traffic yet showing less income; over a THREE frickin’ month period!
And I’m growing tired of having my intelligence insulted.
I’m not that smart. Make an effort if you’re gonna screw me.
sorry to have rambled on.
basically it would just be an informal get together in a thread once a month to tell each other , “Hey, I send more traffic; my income rises”.
or; I send more traffic; my income stays same.
So that we know which programs to either stay away from; or else limit the number of hits we send them each month to counteract this “leveling out” syndrome.

GuestAmen!
I haven’t been in this bus. but a little over 3 months, and I’ve already noticed the trend isn’t what logic tells me it should be.

Hi,
well the reason I think the informal thread would work well is because over that long of period of time, many of us will have changed traffic sources more than once; and its going to be better or worse most the time.
we’ll also have switched positioning, banners, perhaps even the bonuses will change.
this is more of a “get a feel” for it type of thing in my opinion.
… trying to find the right way of saying this without looking too stupid …. but there are a lot of variables and some are things that can’t really be judged on paper and get an accurate reading.
or maybe they can and I just don’t want to work that hard.
the veterans have been around long enough to know what should be happening with their sites in respect to the traffic they are seeing at that time and their word is good enough for me; if they say that hey, I been pourin’ it on fortune lounge and yet I’m still makin’ the same ol’ thing I was making before I increased things.
I can figure it out from there.
And for the newbies; well you should trust your first instinct. And if you’re wondering where to start; what I did was to visit those sites of the people I knew were making money. Here’s the bad part. Many of them are making enough that they don’t keep their sites as updated as they should be; and there were times when I signed up to promote the wrong place because I saw it advertised on the site of someone that I thought was on top of things. Add to that the nasty little x factor that not all places are gold for all people; and you really should keep trying different things until you find something that works for you.
and then tell us. LOL
No I’m not kidding. Surprisingly, I have found there is room on the net for all of us; and though a casino can reach a point of over-saturation, that is a far-off point. I think most times its actually to your advantage for a casino to have been seen a few places before; as it adds credibility.
following that line of thinking; then what would be the one casino you want others to see the most? why the one that has proven to make you money of course.

GuestPS
though I know retro stats is not in the equation; I don’t believe that counts towards something good to say about a place.
last couple of months I have been really surprised to see Slotland jump up about 3 – 4 times more income with minor amount of extra space. I know a lot has to do with my having launched a slots site; but even on that site I have kept their exposure to one decent spot on the first page.
Since this jump has mainly been last and this month; I felt it was a good place to start. And a positive note to boot!
Cheers to online gambling’s Methuselah : SLotland.
ps.
last month made me more than RB, Fortune, Vegas Partners , Money Mechanic, brightshare
Now when you compare that dinasour with any of the above; it should make anyone wonder how this is possible? And on top of all that; I have more players at the above; and yet Slotland out did every one of them.

InactiveLOL Fergie …… Same with me – i don’t get it.
For example: 2 months ago I made a very nice amount with a certain casino. This month I have only made I think 40 bucks total. And when I say good amount I’m not talking about just 200-300 bucks. lol
Wierd!

InactiveWhat excellent posts BB. I think you have vocalised what we all feel and put foward a great idea.
We partially discussed this at dinner (time constraints suck) with Prof, Talkcasinos and Craps R Us the other night and to date this and posting/reading posts has been the only way to get a handle on what is working for who.
It still makes no sense as to works for whom, but a monthly little run down by everyone would be a very powerful tool indeed.
I have been leaning a lot towards relying on stats for various sites and using for comparison purposes.
We all KNOW something is very amiss. Time to put the finger on the pulse.February 25, 2004 at 5:25 pm #645312Anonymous

This worries me too. Which casino was it?I was about to post here who it is but I got a call from the Affiliate manager profusely apologising for this, claiming it happened in error and begging me not to go public.
I have three players I sent there whom I know so I’ve asked them to all let me know once they’ve played again (two are still holding funds).
If I get funny business, you’ll be the first to know. What was really disappointing is that this has been my best casino as a newbie and I really did not want to drop them.
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

InactiveWhy did I already know this… LOL…
All of my Playtechs were shut-off mid-month because I was almost certain the tracking was not working. Especially one in particular who managed to piss me off big time and said that I must be imagining things or else it was a different Playtech program…
Until I am confident that the PT tracking is working again, and after I am credited for players who signed up during the downtime, the PTs will remain down.
You sure you can’t tell us which one? :baaa:
