If google counts them as links they are good links
if anything shows up when you do link: yoursite – it’s a real link

The problem might be the words they link to you with – that’s the real key
if people link to you with “punch to the face” enough you will get hits for that even of your site is about birds

I have 10 million links to a site according to yahoo (well maybe not 10 million)
    google 5 links PR4

PS months of work? Buddy it takes years to get a ‘herd’ of online players that play regularly
    most are 25.00 deposits

    the rule of thumb is 1000 hits= 100 clicks = 10 downloads = 1 player

Thanks for showing me the true scale.

I will not give up, i’d be happy with a five hundred dollars a month, but i want to prove to myself that i can do this more than anything, because i enjoy doing it.

To still be going after 6 months with no return, must show some commitment, but its hard to try and stay focused when all seems wasted.

Thanks shotgun, time is time at the end of the day.

If players are not converting maybe you need to change the type of players your targeting?

Quick question, what is the average a player stays on at a casino in your opinion.

I know there are whales out there, i’d be happy with a few bored rich millionaires on my books any day, they are out there you know.

People whom money is no object, but would do anything for a bit of fun.

These are the few lucky customers out there.

    Fingers crossed

There is no hard and fast answer to this question.
It comes down to the quality of the player you send, the quality casino you send it to.
Half the battle is getting the player, the other half is ensuring the player plays.

Getting traffic isn’t too much of a problem, but getting traffic which converts is another science. I’ve seen advertisers who convert 1 player in 15 hits, and advertisers which convert 1 player in 500 hits.

Choosing your casino is just as important. The casino should have a good signup offer, and good retention, and re-activation strategies.

A casino which is also innovative and looking to do something different with their strategies is also a big plus.

I’ve seen players stay at a casino for 3+ years. Some longer with a program, where if the player stops playing, they will market a sister casino to the player, and reactivate the player, ensuring u keep earning.

That depends on lots of things.

Is the casino doing good retention efforts? What do they do for VIP players? What do they do for regular but lower budget players?

Is your referral a hobby player or a bonus hunter?

I have had players play once at some casinos and quit.

I have had players at some casinos for many years.

It all depends on the quality of the places you promote.

It also depends on the type of traffic you have and the type of promotions you offer.

Whales don’t respond to freebie offers, they could care less abut $15 free or whatever. Not even worth one spin.

I don’t think your issue is a SEO issue or a linking issue, you need to focus on converting the traffic you have.

Do your visitors see what your keyword advertises? If not, they will likely shrug their shoulders, curse google and move on.

    Hello fellow CAP members

I’m begging for some honesty, 6 months in and uniques are remaining at only 30 per day after all this work, content etc. I’m carrying out link building but in getting connections with fellow industry members is not possible. The same response, Because i am PR 0, they tell me to wait and come back when i’m PR 2 or more.

However the only way to do this, is to get links in the first place from these other websites.

Can you share with me your dark days of being a PR0 and how long it took you to get some reputable number for your website.

Thanks a lot for any inputs.

I take it i’ll have to get my wallet out, but i did not want to start throwing lots of money into this before i have yet to make a return.

    Please pass guidance, thank you

There has not been a page rank update from google since April, I think page rank is being scraped and will be obsolete soon.

Yup, maybe. If I was Google, I would get rid of Pagerank, I would have got rid of it a long time ago. It’s clear that what they have a huge hard on for these days is aged sites.

What is classed as reputable age in the eyes of lord google.

Does it mean a site has to be atleast a year before it’s trusted, i also heard that domain registration term is also considered.

How can we ever get older without PR, this is what most other webmasters look at when considering to link back, that means i could be stuck at PR0.

    Hopefully they will remove it.

when you ask for a link and they say “you are only pr 0”
reply with giving your best position in google for a certain keyword

You may want to consider linking to other non pr showing sites as well. I see link quality not in PR but in the types of pages. If you see a page with 30 links to others sites its not worth a link on that page even if its pr7, after all the outgoing links its still garbage.

Slowly add manual links to directories, do not pay for 10000 links in a day as then you wont be seen on google for 6 months.

It takes time and content, I see you write so keep on writing, and when google sees the site growing and not a bunch of nonsense you will get results.

Make sure the anchor text you have is actually somthing you want visitors to find you with, as if you advertise interesting reading on gambling, odds are low compared to online casino reviews and such.

Okay… Here’s my two cents worth:

My original domain was registered in Dec 2002 and site actually launched Jan 2003.

My site was as high as PR5 back in 2005-2007 but back then it was a lot easier to get a good GPR. These days Google is a lot more difficult to get those high PR’s. Although I do agree that PR really has VERY little effect on how much money your site will make, a higher PR does increase the value of the domain name in an auction situation (if you were to try to sell your domain)

Unfortunatly I was testing my SEO strategy over the summer by changing meta and body text and as a result I am now getting traffic (via Google) looking for “free slots” “free online slots” “Lord of the Rings Slots” ect… ect… But it still is UNIQUE traffic coming from Google searches. With that being said, I am currently revamping my keyword and body text to reflect a more profitable visitor.

As of today my original site (originally PR4 before this summer) is ranked PR2 with only 3 notable links in (according to Google) and I get about 100 to 150 uv’s per day.

I am still making money as I have retained many players throughout the years. But as a lot are saying… Lately I too am getting tons of downloaders and registrations but very few new depositors. This can be due to the global economy as well as online banking proccessing woes.

My advise to you is to grab a couple (or more) new domain names and develope similar sites to your original. Link them together as a network and hopefully your original site will get the PR boost you are looking for. This is a lot cheaper than dropping thousands of $$$ in outsourcing your SEO and link building practices (not to say that the advertising dollar is not money well spent) But to get started… you do need links to and from your original site and this is an effective way to get started.

I hope this helps you in some way.

Good luck and may the force be with you (I’m such a geek sometimes)
