InactiveDo you have an email or link about this? I haven’t received any correspondence indicating this, and there’s no mention of it on their web sites.
Come to think of it, three of the states that they have always excluded are not in the list of states that MG casinos are excluding. Weird…

InactiveHi Sue,
As per our recent email, due to the Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act, Lasseters has decided that we will no longer accept deposits and bets from residents of the United States.
It is with sincere regret we inform you, effective 10:30am on Saturday 14th October 2006; (ACST) we will be required to close your cash player accounts.
Please note: You will still have access to your account for the purpose of withdrawing funds only.
Also FirePay have advised us they will halt all U.S. deposits to gaming sites coinsiding with the enforcement of the Act, however we will process withdrawals for a further 10 days.
Your Lasseters balance, minus any unused bonuses is available to you immediately by following the withdrawal procedure on our website. Please note if your account balance is LESS than US$25 you will need to contact our Customer Support staff to request your withdrawal. All funds not withdrawn by Tuesday 31st October 2006 will be remitted to eligible players in the form of a check. Should you not receive this payment please contact [email protected] where your details can be updated and the payment processed.
Players who have not previously provided age identification and have an existing cash balance are required to provide suitable age ID prior to withdrawing funds. How do I provide Proof of Age?
We would like to take this opportunity to once again express our sincere gratitude for your loyalty to Lasseters Online over the past 7 years. We truly hope sometime in the future we will be in a position to welcome you back to the World’s First Government Licenced and Regulated Internet Casino – Lasseters Online.
Yours faithfully,
Debbie Isaak

InactiveThanks for posting a copy of the email you received Siouxsee.
Unfortunately, the Board at Lasseters and AusVegas were strongly advised by their solicitors to reverse their decision on taking US bets once the act was signed into law, and consequently informed their players before affiliates could be informed. We apologise for this sudden announcement.
We will give you an update regarding commissions earned up to the closure of your US players’ accounts. Your non-US players should remain unaffected by all the changes. Rest assured we will do everything we can to work with you on continuing to deliver an outstanding player experience for your international traffic.
Thanks very much for your understanding. If you have any questions or would like to discuss how we can move ahead together, please send us an email at [email protected].
Regards,
Julia

InactiveWhat? Bad communication from an affiliate rep? ha!
What changed between the passing of the law and Bush signing?
Nothing.
This move by Lassiters/Aus was a business decision to increase exposure and profits for a few weeks while other sites were at least being honest about their intentions.
Don’t support double talkers like Lassiters and AusVegas.
