InactiveAny thoughts? Does anyone even care if we have a keynote?

biggygMemberHow about this idea-ask the affiliate managers to give a list of their top 5 affiliates ,pick from that list and invite a great affiliate to speak as I am sure they will likely be interesting to all of us .Then again they may not want to share their secrets but thats my 2 cents.

If you get Matt Cutts let me know – I am probably not going to Barcelona but I will seriously reconsider if you can get him there.
BTW, you might ask some of your past speakers, such as Neil Patel, if they can get hold of Matt Cutts – I would assume that they have a better chance of doing so.
Speaking of which I would like to hear Neil speak again – he was very entertaining!

With all respect due to Mr. Brunson I don’t think he is the type of key note speaker that is ideal for the affiliate industry. He is a very interesting person who tells great stories about poker, but his knowlege of our industry is minimal. I hope this year your goal is to find a keynote speaker who represents the industry as a whole, someone who can lead the charge to the future worldwide.
Although he is US-centric I think former Senator Al D’Amato would make an ideal keynote IMHO, I hope your thinking along those lines.

Inactive2+2 I am completely open on who we should have and can see advantages with both types of speaker. We have actually tried politicians before with no luck but as the event gets bigger and bigger I think they will see the advantages in attending – I will approach this guy today
SpearMaster – Neil Patel will be back in Jan for London so that should be great
Also what are people’s thoughts on ShoeMoney?

InactiveI think having a poker player is a waste of time IMO. I would much rather go to the conference and see someone like Brent Hoberman (the speaker in London). I am more in favour of an entrepreneur that has made a successful living out of the Internet by doing something innovative. Sure, poker players would probably have some interesting stories, but listening to an entrepreneur is much more inspiring.
Also, I like the recommendation of Matt Cutts. It would be nice to get inside the head of google to see how they look at our industry.

I went to the webmaster world event in New Orleans a few years back to see the google engineers (One reason why I went) they had a one on one question and answer session with them about 10 or so engineers. Just a joke they didn’t give out any good info……. Of course why would they?
but it would be nice to see Matt Cutts on the fly answering any questions…….. I have a few

This is the downside of getting a Google engineer – they won’t be able to tell you how they rank things for obvious reasons so you run the risk of people coming away disappointed. However, an SEO “expert” like Brett Tabke might be better because he is under no ties and although he may not “know” how it works, his “best guess” scenario is likely to be reasonably accurate and more enlightening I’d suggest.
The more I think about it, the more I like the sound of Calvin Ayre.
