betterbettingMemberThe Civil-liberties Union should be requested take action against what I see as nothing more than a flagrent abuse and misuse of the powers held by both the Federal Judge and the Governor. I studied Constitutional Law at USC in 1982 and from what I’m able to gather from your article, this Judge way over stepped his legal authority. I offer the following for thought; The domain names in question are owned by non-US Companies and/or Citizens of the USA. None are hosted in the USA, rather in countries that US law has no authority to seize assets belonging to companies that exist in another sovereign nation without first having been given permission by a court in each country to do so. Just because the asset is virtual and exist in “Cyber-Space”does not give the US Government authority to claim jurisdiction. Especially if the companies are not marketing their services in the USA. It would be no different than that same Governor and Federal Judge ordering the seizure of the assets of certain types of businesses that operate legally in Amsterdam then sending a dozen cops from Kentucky to arrest the proprietors and take physical possession of the assets of those companies.
