InactiveHi Dom
It is a % of the Player’s rake. Most (but not all) rooms include the tourney fees as well in the revenue.

InactiveDom,
All the poker rooms I promote pay affiliates for tourney fees, except Ultimate Bet. Hopefully, they will consider changing their policy. I try to steer all my tournament players away from UB.July 18, 2005 at 2:39 am #668870Anonymous
InactiveHere is a more detailed answer. This calculation aply to both Royal rooms and most of other rooms that share players in the network.
In order to get rake, your player needs to be dealt cards in a raked pot. While us and most of the rooms divide the rake at the number of players dealt cards, there are rooms that either divide it to the number of players that contributed with money to the pot or instead of dividing to the number of players they calculate prorata with the money put in the pot.
All rooms that are part of the same network use the same calculation for the rake.I see no reason for tournament fees not being added in the calculation. There are players that play only tournaments. The room benefit from them so they should be in the rev share.
I hope this help.

InactiveThanks guys.
So it looks like only UB doesn’t pay for tournies.
Good to know, I won’t list them then.
I am going to be cleaning up my site and remove all possible “$leaks”.
Someone who doesn’t pay for tournies qualifies as a potential $leak.
Now I would like to know which poker rooms have any active policies in place to prevent in-room spamming and also which have agressive policies sifting through players by IP and pursuing the ones who have signed up more than once. Or any other proactive way of monitoring this better.
I am about to launch my new and improved poker page and give it exposure – the late developments in this industry with breaches of contract and in poker with rake back problems have made me very cautious. I am going to be reading all T&Cs and practice a different type of optimization. I am going to optimize my income by choosing just the right programs.

InactiveI would give pacific poker a go…no rakeback and spam…but keep them low profile most prof/semiprofessionals hate pacific because of their software which is full of bugs/disconnections etc. – Some love pacific, mainly because of the horrible players.
Paradise also good.
Poker Stars amazing, but only do CPAstay away from all prima, cryptologic, UB, Absolute
Just a few from top of mind.
pokerpulse is a great place to check out the industry.July 18, 2005 at 2:34 pm #668892Anonymous

Most poker rooms do not alow using other sites names, domains…. and have powerfull filters. Still this can;t stop spam on the boards. Someone can easy go in and type: come visit emp i re rake ba ck dot c o m without any trouble. The only active policy can be to close imediatelly accounts for affiliate spamming.
No room has public statements regarding the way they are detected (this will only offer the spammers ways to avoid being detected) and I personally think there is no much difference between rooms in regards to this.
Regarding signing for multiple accounts(this is what i think most affiliates should look for as it mean player can get a new account without the affiliate tag) rooms are pretty carefully as bonus players with more accounts mean thieft from the rooms as well.
As an affiliate I would also look for the Party skins problem. What I mean is if the player has an account with other skin he is not alowed a second account in same network. From what i know that only happen in the Party network but there might be others too that I am not aware of.

It’s almost impossible…also party-skins have rakeback…so……….BTW the party sign-up filter is very easy to work around…but it’s better than nothing.

I was not aware of this policy. I have accounts at two party skins and had no problem. I have also talked to players who have opened an account at a skin, had the skin call them and ask if they had an account elsewhere, they say yes and it’s no problem. I would like some clarification from Party about this.
