    Both very interesting reads.
Gives you an insight on how Google tracks links and quantifies what is spamming your link in the engines to game unfair rankings.

Although I get the feeling.. that trading links could be classes as borderline blackhat in the articles written.

Ever get the felling that Google controls everything now… ? Too much power in one company without real competitors is a bit scary.

It’s been like that for sometime now. Especially if your business relies on Google traffic, if you disappear from the engines, there goes your traffic, and there goes your earnings.

I’ve always believed its a good idea to diversify for that very reason. You should be able to contact your user base via emails, forums, chats.

And create new websites to generate more traffic, and users for your current product.
