I find that Microgaming has the widest selection and best performing slots. Personally when I play slots online I generally go to a MGS casino.

Playtech is also a solid platform for slots.

For Video Poker I like RTG or Playtech.

For table games I like Playtech or Cryptologic.

Please note: These selections were based on personal play preference. In the case of slots MGS is also my highest earner for that segment.

    As a player…

For table games I prefer Boss Media. For all else I prefer Microgaming. To be fair I have to admit that I rarely play games besides Blackjack, Roulette and Major Millions Prog’.

As an affiliate I prefer Microgaming and Cryptologic.

Does the average player realise the difference in software? I would think that the average player believes the difference in software is simply because it’s a different casino. If you go into two different grocery stores you’ll usually find the same items, but just displayed differently.

I think after playing at a few casinos new players quickly realize that the same slots appear at different casinos. Wether they perceive that as a common software platform or as a “brand” of games is open to debate. I wouldnt be surprised if many dont consider the games as a sort of brand. IE:

“I often see Major Millions and Cash Splash in the slots area at a lot of the casinos I visit. They must be a popular brand of games”

Similar to what we see at Land Based casinos. IGT slots are at ALL casinos.

Seasoned online players do identify casinos by software suite. I often see them refer to the casinos by software at player boards so once they’ve been around for awhile they group casinos like we do.

    I don’t want the champagne….but

I think that I’m with Professor on this one..

Slots I’d go with Micro or playtech for sure, video slots, RTG and table games..playtech.

I prefer micro slots because of the variety and bonuses…but second would be playtech as their slots are innovative as well….

As a player, I like RTG best for everything – including slots.

Come to think of it, Iglobal has some really nice themed slots and VP games. I like the slots with King Kong climbing the buildings.

I dont mind cryptologic, the slots there are decent, as are the table games. But I find the games often hangup. I’ll be done spinning the reel, and i’ll try to switch slot machines, and it refuses to let me switch, claiming that i was in the middle of a spin. So I have to go back to the old game, spin once more, and then I’m fine. I also find I get disconnected. To get reconnected I have to log out of the software, close the program, open the program, and log back in. Sometimes I have to wait 5 or 10 minutes before trying to reconnect. I gamble online very rarely and I find this frustrating, if I played regularly and not just for testing purposes, I would go elsewhere.

RTG games are above average, but players are wary of trying out an RTG casino since so many of them turn out to be scams. I do ok with some RTG casinos but nothing like Microgaming.

Boss media has ok table games, but for slots or video poker they dont have enough selection. From my experience these are the most popular games, so ignoring them is ridiculous.

Microgaming seems to me to have the best slots, and software package. Most of my best performing casinos use this software, and the conversion and retention rate are significantly better than other casinos.

If I had an unlimited budget I’d go with microgaming, if not RTG. Maybe cryptologic if I had enough convincing, but I have always been dissapointed with the conversion rate and player value at Cryptologic. I dont think anyone else is a serious contender. I dont even bother looking at playtech casinos anymore, the casinos that I tried promoting were a joke, I would earn more from advertising a dollar store. Boss Media seems like they are not keeping up with the times. They dont have the selection of video poker or slots that players want.

My personal preference is Microgaming for their bonus feature slots ( especially Thunderstruck which I am addicted to :) Keno and 4 play power poker ( I have hit at least 6 royal flushes on the joker poker power poker )

RTG for their 100 hand poker , Tri Card Poker and all poker in general

Playtech for their slots ( they come second to Microgaming )

I can’t speak for the others as I haven’t played any others – tend to be a creature of habit and live at Cyber Piggs Peak SA :)

PS Don’t worry about the champagne – It will cost too much to ship it to South Africa;)
