I don’t know Joomla well but from what you just posted I would wait a week or so and see what happens the next time G crawls your site. The title should get fixed and you pages should return to normal in a couple of weeks.
As long as it is correct now, you need to simply wait for google to re-index the, you couls set them as high priority in the Sitemap on key pages, do not set the entire site high.
