InactiveThat’s absolute nonsense. Whether he ever returns or not should be immaterial to profits made to date. Do keep us posted on how this turns out.

InactiveI would really like to hear who this is … this is totally unacceptable! You are entitled to your normal percentage of every penny he made the casino prior to closing his account. Sounds like they are trimming a money maker from your account hmmmm :shooter:

InactiveI will let you all know as soon as I do. I am waiting for a reply now. This is exactly what was said:
All rev under locked accounts get iced. Only continue if they are unlocked thereafter.
so I wrote back saying “I’ve never heard of this and I’m certain I still deserve commissions from the profits, please look into this for me.”
Damn I hope they straighten this out cause I hate to give them a bad name, we just started making good $$ with their poker rooms too.
And I get along very well with the affiilate manager. Actually the affiliate manager I deal with is a “poker aff manager” since the majority of our income is poker. That’s why I’m really hoping he’s been misguided and given me the wrong info.
I will let you all know the minute I know something, either way I’ll say who it is once I get it straightened out. (Keeping fingers crossed it’s a huge mistake!)January 6, 2005 at 6:57 am #659815Anonymous
InactiveHopefully he is just confusing closed with locked. Fair enough not to get anything if the account is locked for fraud or some other reason but if the player just asks for the account to be closed and has done nothing wrong then you should be entitled to any outstanding commission. The casino/poker room has still earned their share (and kept it) so you should get your commission.

InactiveVIP players do close account. I don’t think any casino will actually close a VIP account, they just lock it so it can be re-opened later and if they have a good retention dept it will be unlocked. Players do this, if they are spending to much or if they think the casino has not been giving them enough bonuses for there losses. Casinos are real good at sending gifts to VIP players when they win big, but they don’t take care of the VIP players as well when they are loosing.
However you should get earnings on the player whether they had it locked or not.

InactiveOkay, Brad just called me and it’s been cleared that I am owed this money. This was Fortune Lounge by the way and they said they don’t have this happen too often and I believe he got a closed acct. mixed up with a locked or fraudulent account.
Either way it’s taken care of, glad it was worked out, like I said I do like working with Brad and Wayne and we’ve just started making consistent money with them and the poker.

InactiveThe only reason to hold back earnings after an account has been locked is if there is fear of fraud or chargeback. Still, the money is due to you if the situation changes.
But if a player has asked to close his account, all earnings up to that date should be accounted for.
Maybe you should ask what the circumstances are surrounding the locked account.. could be he threatened to do a chargeback, which would then be an understandbale reason to hold back the earnings. (Obviously, do not mention the chargeback theory – it would be a great way to lie to you if it isn’t that  )

I figured it was FL
Glad to hear it worked out for you.January 6, 2005 at 8:08 pm #659841Anonymous

Glad to hear it worked out for you.maybe I should have written it differently …
1. fear of fraud and the account has been locked
OR
2. there was a chargebackJanuary 6, 2005 at 9:43 pm #659844Anonymous
InactivePeralis, I do agree with you, but the first thing I asked him when he told me was “did he chargeback” and the answer was no, he requested they close his acct.
Regardless, it’s taken care
