InactiveI would say its good that if people see it on tv they will have abetter feeling about its legality. On the flip side the TV ads are telling them where to go directly skipping over us!
Overall I would say if it generates more first time gamblers it has to be good though, but is it like throwing tomatoes at the governments face? Some people you dont want to piss off!

InactiveI’d say TV advertising is beneficial to everybody. Brand recognition definitely increases our conversion rates.
People see it on tv, become familiar with it, and probably 10% or less of those who are intrigued actually will go to their computer and type in the url directly. The rest file it away somewhere in their grey matter until the next time they’re online.
More often than not, seeing the now familiar casino or poker room on an affiliate site while surfing the web will jog their memory, and that’s when they will finally visit the property – via an affiliate link.
I don’t know how the numbers would break down. Lets say that without tv advertising 100 people are already interested in and actively playing online.
Now, put in tv advertising, and the number of payers increases 10 fold simply because the exposure on TV is so wide spread. So now 1000 players are playing. If even half of those typed the url in directly, that still roughly (very roughly) 500% more more players for us to acquire than there would be without the television exposure.
Of course, those percentages are made up. I would love to see some marketing research on this.

InactiveI think it is good to get the idea out there that internet gambling is not bad but I also think if they flood the tube with ads it will tick off the bible thumpers even more and I do think they cut us aff out of the picture in a round about way was well.

campaigns so this may not always be coming from affiliates.

InactiveIn fact – I’m sure that they’ll be in house bonus codes.
And that they’ll over-ride any affiliate link clicked to get there.
:lookarounIf I remember correctly – affiliate linkage is ALL about the bonus code used at PartyPoker ?

InactiveYou can setup link code with Party without offering the bonus. But, I tend to agree that this is Party Poker wanting to track the success of their campaign, not an upstart affiliate advertising for them.
