IMHO giving players free money without them asking for it is a horrid concept !!!
Are the unsuspecting players going to be trapped into play thru requirements as a result of not being fully knowledgeable?
Why arent those stats available to the affiliate as well? Futhermore why is it shown as a negative on the affiliate side if its money that has NOT actually been used/lost?
Not showing whats going on adds to the mystery!
September 11, 2004 at 10:35 pm #654897AnonymousGuestplus I’d be interested in hearing what the rate of success is using this method.
when I started out with VP, I listed all their casinos. Soon it became painfully apparent that only SV was going to make any money so I pulled everything else.
Now that was some time ago. every month since then I see where my stats at for instance, 777 , drop into the negative for the month, which I understand means you’ve added money to the “no-accounts” for lack of a better word.
Not once to my memory have I seen a positive on one of these properties.
and it sounds like its not just been myself to experience these type of results.
I have always went out of my way to discourage free money seekers.
Lets face it; you’re not likely ever going to see a big whale all of sudden appear from one of these “no-accounts”. It just doesn’t work that way. Big players; even if their afraid to risk their money, don’t consider a few hundred bucks money. To them, its like you or me risking $5.
The real thing you need to concentrate on if that is your goal; is to convince these players its safe enough to risk their private information. If there are any big players that are on the fence, its not a free handout that will turn their head.
But you prove to them its safe to risk their private info; and then you might actually gain a player worth getting.
Even if you do make a real player out of the majority of people that fall into the “no-account” category, what’s the best you’re going to see from them?
Not enough to justify this type of approach IMHO.
think about it.

Right now in we’re negative on all over and I would really like to know when if we’ll ever earn money with VP again, if not we’ll have to get rid of the sites including the poker, this is just insane:

September 17, 2004 at 6:52 am #655154AnonymousInactiveI would rather see the answers publicly posted in here – it does us no good when many of us have the same issue and you only answer one of us by phone.
Please, can you address the issues in here?
September 17, 2004 at 7:15 am #655155AnonymousInactiveI agree Spear, I just wanted to find out what’s up as quickly as possible, but we should have it posted publicly as it seems to be a no win situation for sure.
September 17, 2004 at 10:44 am #655161AnonymousInactiveKeep us posted, Ellen.
Antoinette, you can see that there are a few concerned affiliates in here – so perhaps you better make policy clear in a public place where you can reach most of us quickly.
September 17, 2004 at 11:14 am #655162AnonymousInactiveHi guys,
As I have explained previously this is a monthly promotion that we run and all balances not used up is removed from the players account before the month end.
Some of you may end of a month with negative stats for poker because when a player opens a poker account he also gets a Crazy Vegas Casino account. Both the casino and poker account come in with a poker tag. Some players play on both their casino and poker accounts. This is the reason for some poker accounts being in negative as casino and poker stats are calculated very differently.
With regards to changing the stats interface, it is something we are looking into but as a long term project as there are other changes that our technical department are busy with at present.
The reason as to why your stats show up as negative is due to the amounts being credited to the players account and since there was no incme generated from these players it will show up as negative.
I would like to make this as public as possible but there are certain issues that pertain to specific queries that cannot be addressed publicly as they are specific to an affiliate. Please feel free to contact me on any of the numbers below from 9am-12pm EST.

What’s happening in a nut shell is they need to come up with a way that poker and the casino are tagged separately. If we have a poker player that makes us $20 that month, and they used their bonus in the casino and won $50, we’re negative -$30 instead of it tagging +$20 to poker and $-50 to the casino.
We’ll give them a little time to sort this out, at least I understand why now.
September 17, 2004 at 2:16 pm #655166AnonymousInactiveYeah – Antoinette kindly called me too. I told her I didn’t think you’d accept that explanation… LOL…. it doesn’t affect me since I don’t have poker up yet. But if I had seen that -$8xx in the poker stats I wouldn’t have hesitated to yank that program once and for all.
Part of the problem is the poor affiliate backend that Microgaming provides to their operators as well. I have been all over Microgaming for more than two years to fix this and rumor has it that they are finally doing something about it.
That being said, I’m not enamored with the manner in which the Vegas Partner scripts handle the data either. Other programs have come up with either better reporting, more timely reporting, or more accuracy than what I have seen so far so perhaps Vegas Partner might take this opportunity to bullet-proof their scripts while waiting for the new MGS backend to arrive.
But at least we know what happened now and I’m sure Vegas Partner will fix it – not a matter of trust, just a matter of being shown what is wrong.
September 17, 2004 at 10:21 pm #655198AnonymousInactiveI told her I didn’t think you’d accept that explanation… LOL….
Well, normally we wouldn’t but she was so nice and did call to explain. Just about any other program would of been ripped down in 2 secs flat. And yes, you’re right, it affects us quite a bit with 200-300 reals in their poker room, it’s costing us.
So, they just need to sort it out now and we’ll be fine.
September 18, 2004 at 3:10 am #655214AnonymousInactiveI thought the idea is that at the end of the month any bonuses not used are taken away from the player accounts and therefore crediting your accounts with the money. Any players that use their bonus will most likely lose it and so again you will be credited. If the players happens to win they’ll most likely turn into a real player to try and win some more.
If i’m right then affiliates aren’t affected at all. Have I missed something?
September 18, 2004 at 7:36 am #655221AnonymousInactiveYes, you missed a lot! LOL
What’s happened is, instead of a $10 bonus being credited to my players’ poker accts. they’re also getting a casino bonus as well, both are showing up in the poker alone, when it should show $10 for poker and $10 for the casino.
If they play poker on $10, some will make up for the rake easy with it, some will blow it in a few hands and then we’re still neg. $9 or $10. But if they go to the casino and win $10 now we’re showing negative $30 on our poker acct. ($10 for the win and another $20 for the bonuses)
Long story short, if it was just poker bonuses showing up, we’d be fine as most will play it and the rake will make up for it. But since it’s mixing the bonus with the casino bonus it’s costing us, as many will win $10 -$20 on the free money. As you know poker takes time to make the bucks in so any negative in poker will hurt you.
