I don’t but only because I dont use that many of them and I also dont have posts on most of my home pages so I dont have dup content.
If it causes dup content or you use more than a few categories then I would also check it.

No, you can go back and change the settings. It will take google a couple of months to fully update their info.

InactiveI dont know anything about wp, but the archives should be setup so that those pages reinforce your seo efforts.

Not in this case. You end up with duplicate content and also with duplicate descriptions.

AletheidesMemberI would recommend not using tag pages if possible unless you know your traffic actually uses them. If they do, then use noindex,follow as it will help pass equity to pages that are indexable
