Inactiveyou´ve got to point the the27offsuit domain to the hostgator nameservers and then contact hostgator and tell them in what subdomain you want that site to appear and they will handle the rest for you. That´s how it worked at bluehost at least.

InactiveSo a second site would have to be a subdomain of my first site? that would suck and defetes the purpose of being able to have unlimited sites

Inactiveit all depends if your host allows you to add extra domains, if they do… and you are using cpanel to do your domain administration do the following (this is from memory… so I may have missed some specific details) :
in cpanel :
- click on “addon domain” (not domain parking)
- you will go to a page where you need to add info about the domain you want to add
- it will ask for domain name : the27offsuit.com
it will ask for username, use something link : the27offsuit - click create, (doing this will create the directory ‘the27offsuit’.. there is no need for you do it)
- if you ftp into your domain, (the main / initial one), you will see int he public_html, a directory called “the27offsuit”, upload your documents there
what you also need to do is, go to the place where you registered the domain (registrar) and select, and edit the DNS information for the domain the27offsuit.com
You will need to contact gator for this info if you do not already have it, it will be sometihng like (NS1.HOSTGATOR.COM, NS2.HOSTGATORr.COM)
once you have made these changes to the domain, it can take anywhere between 30 seconds to 24 hrs for the domain to “appear” on the internet with the documents you uploaded into the directory the27offsuit and hostgator
give me a holla if you have any issues.

InactiveI stopped using Hostgator because somebody (I’m not going to say it was them) artificially increased my sites bandwidth and then they told me I had to get a dedicated server (which costs a shit-load more).
They also took my sites down several times without notification when a credit card expired (I was paying monthly, automatically, though their billing interface).
I used to like (and rave) about them until that stuff happened, though.
