InactiveIt’s a bad idea, IMO.

InactiveI’m not so sure on this one…
I don’t think Search Engines can really place a strong penalty on duplicate content.
With so many sites now offering news feeds and press releases that are going to be all the same content this would severely disadvantage those sites.
Example…
PR 5 http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2004/10/28/yes/
PR 6 https://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?show=Hardcover:Sale:1572437413:10.98 This page uses much of the same content. Just doctored a little.
Of course PR relies on many other factors but the PR 6 Site does not seem to be penalized in anyway I can see for having the same content.
I guess to be on the side of caution you might want to edit the content a little… you may just want to check the programs T & Cs on this or ask your affiliate manager before modifying press releases or promotions.
I personally would not have a problem using content provided by programs… even if it is the same.
Just my 2 cents.

InactiveI agree with that part, Roo. I think, however, that if your site is even 80% rss feed – then any aff program has little use for you. Maybe I am wrong.

InactiveI think it can be useful as a foundation to find out a little about what the casino has, but avoid using it for two reasons:
1) I think it does contribute towards dupe content penalties personally, though depending on how it is used, but more importantly…
2) I think casino-provided content is too one-sided and an affiliate should try to provide more “personal” data wherever possible. If you rely on casino content which is basically just “advertising”, players will leave your site on the pretext they are off to some wonderful casino, discover maybe they are not as good as they thought (normally when they come to cashout!) and go elsewhere leaving you high-and-dry.
I remember when i started out as a player, i often ended up with higher expectations than the casino I’d picked from a list somewhere gave me and I wandered off to find another. I prefer to see the “cons” aswell as the “pros” if possible. Nothing p*ssed me off more than waiting 4 or more days for my money to show up when i won so I was forever moving around til I found ones that suited me.
If the original affiliate who got me first time out had done a better job, he’d/she’d have made thousands of bucks out of me by now

So in essence, I think you’re more likely to get more smaller “one-or-two” time players with standard content but with well thought out balanced content will get bigger fish. Just my opinion.
