InactiveIt’s just been a bad year for the flu.
And people that got the flu shot this year the shot did not cover all virus types of flu.
This year, though, the actual flu viruses that are causing flu illnesses throughout the U.S. are quite different from what was predicted. So, the vaccine this year is only offering protection from about 40% of the flu viruses. That means you could have had a flu shot and still get the flu.CDC: Flu vaccine matches 40 percent of season’s viruses

Vitamine C, plenty of rest, no stress, no computing, curtains closed, your wife in the other bedroom if applicable, no tv, plenty of “kamille” tea (is good for infections) and some “paracetamol” got me going again from a severe flue. I rather had a computer virus.
If you have H51N you are in deep trouble (H1N1 virus is a new one to me).
Wash your hands frequently with killing disinfect. soap.
Again the flue can be very dangerous do not underestimate the signals.
Get well soon.

You’re right it’s H5N1 that’s the bird flu. Both are subtypes of Influenza virus A.

InactiveHang in there Prof, and best wishes to the family getting healthy and back on their feet soon.
Advice:
Keep your hands clean, which is virtually impossible to get/keep young kids to do this. Don’t have young kids!
Mine haven’t gotten my sick yet, this year.I’d suggest keeping “baby wipes” in the car for cleaning hand at atm, after shopping, etc.
I also discourage people from overdoing it with the use of anti-bacterial cleaners on everything. These will kill lot’s of bacteria, but it will also leave the area more vulnerable to drug resistant bugs, which are the ones that are most dangerous. As a society, we’ve overdone the fight by overusing our weapons and helping to ensure a more dangerous pathogen, with resistance to our arsenal is left behind.
