InactiveTo me, the main task is trying to put together something useful.
For me, that usually means writing something because I cannot afford expensive programming or software creations.
Writing is obviously great for google text search versus visual (graphics – flash etc..)So that leaves me with the job of trying to format my text & sites according to proper SEO techniques that uses ‘correct’ page urls, titles, headers, keywords (in the beginning and interspersed appropriately) alt tags and all the other BS.
Google plus 1 seems just like another numbers race.
I hope that ‘near future’ would come very soon – and quality could be real instead of forced and ‘fixed’.
Til then, it’s onward and upward.

InactiveMy problem is when I am ready to SEO, I’ll start to read different articles on it, then all of a sudden I am taking notes, then I have to get the notes in good organization; highlighting key points, cross referencing, I am so anal with it before I know it, I have 4 hours before I have to get up.
I hope your right RAK about SEO not mattering, but untill then I will continue to keep up on it.

InactiveJust like healthy food, its only good for you if its done in moderation. Going overboard will always give poor results as Google is now actually saying, although I think this has been around for some time now. Speed, User value( time spent / pages ect) will be greater measures of a sites value over keyword stuffing and links (although links are always goinjg to be a big part)

From Marcia’s article it looks like anyone who is doing what looks “unnatural” or “seo’ing” an article to oblivion is going to be penalized.
I think that will also include people who build link networks or overly trade links. Its gotta look natural the way articles are found by google.

InactiveAt this point, unless you know you are gaming the system its just about pointless to try and guess what and how they will do what they do until they actually do it. Maybe one day the crooks with get the karma they truly deserve.

Well put arkyt. Not trying to sound overly “PC” but really the best that any affiliate can do is follow all “best practices” set forth… But most importantly, start out with an actual SEO Strategy… whether it includes conventional SEO methods, to figuring out how to better implement SMO or video on your site, and roll out along with the strategy. The benefits of SEO can take some time to result… but people need to have the “whole picture” in mind.
And… with all the updates that Google continues to roll out… keep fingers crossed that the “crooks” will be hit,

InactiveSeems they are just continuing in their quest to keep tweaking the system to try and have a computer decide what is good, relavant and natural. Word programs can figure out spelling and grammer quite well.
As long as they never figure out who is talking ‘stupid’ I should be OK.
