InactiveI started in this business in late 1999, during my peak period i was making upwards of $50 000 a month, with 2 months above that.
In 2001 i basically had to start from scratch since all of my sites were stolen.. and i had to steal them back but by the time i did all the traffic was gone.
As it is i’m making around half of what i used to make. The reason i wanted to mention that i started from scratch the second time around is just to show that it doesn’t matter how early or late you get into something. I also believe that my earnings are down not because i’m sending less traffic but due to a deteriorated market. Credit card rejections are at an all time high. Over half of players cant deposit money, and sometimes this figure is much higher. Advertising costs are also significantly higher than when i first started. I remember buying a click at overture (back then called goto.com ) for a $1.50 now that same click costs $25 or more.
For more information about me you can visit: http://www.dotaffiliate.com . In the article about casinos i give some other type of details about how i do with gambling.
The best of luck,
Antoine

InactiveThe main one was casinoranking.com it had a nice following at some point, even offered free email and stuff. It pissed off quite a few regulars when they lost access to thier email.
All of those sites are back online. I had a few non gambling related websites where i couldn’t access the software since it was stored on a server of which i did not have a access to. (the webhost was in on it)
They also had a chance to liquidate my bank account and had been screwing me for a while (the accountant and my business partner were in on it)
I restarted this business from scratch with $50 in the bank. The sites i couldn’t steal i had to fight it court for.. fought for several months until we were both broke and had to agree that he could keep the money he stole and i would have all the sites back. Still pisses me off he has 2 cars be bought with my money. Plus i owe taxes on all of that… he of course doesn’t owe tax since you dont pay tax on stolen money. It’s considered a gift under the eyes of the law here.
But you live you learn!

InactiveAnd i forgot, they are still active in this business. A member of the GPWA in fact. I never bring it up because i see no point to. All i will say is that his sites never have made a dime nor will he ever. He even had the audacity of funding his overture account with my credit card at one point (you’d think the cardholder name would have to match the account holder’s?) and he couldn’t make anything off of this.

vladcizsolMemberI came within an inch of feuding with him one time at GPWA as I knew who he was and was shocked when I found he was a member there. I was advised to leave him alone so I did.
I remember when all this happened and I can attest to what Antoine is saying is true.
One day I went to Casino Ranking and it was redirected to the other persons site and when I wrote him J.K. said it wasnt my concern and to stay out of it. I was shocked to say the least, but relieved to see Antoine come back shortly thereafter.
Bad business, but glad it worked out. Antoine is a hell of a nice person and good business man.

InactiveAntoine
… this is incredible news to me and I am sorry to hear.
I know one thing, years ago I sent you a few questions
and you were kind enough to reply. I will never forget this
as it confirmed that you were a good and geniune person.About the stolen sites, things sometimes have a way of
coming Full circle and I hope it continues this way for you.October 28, 2003 at 12:11 am #640769Anonymous
InactiveI appreciate the kind words from both of you.
I also found the Professor to be a genuine person when i met him in Vegas. I still remember when he explained to everyone that he wasn’t picky about what people called him. (Lou or Louis).
Amongst everyone there i also found him to be respectful of his wife, and you could tell that his kids came first. I say this because i find that a lot of people who do well financially care more about money than anything else.
Hopefully things will go well for everyone at a long time to come.

InactiveIt shows the best way to make money is the honest way and Antonie you did us all proud by setting up again and becoming once again a success!
The same happened to me regarding domain names, and also a real money making business unrelated to domain names. It is unfair when it happens but it is amazing the true professional always bounces back.

InactiveOMG – Its shocking yet not that hard to believe (based on history and experience) that a fellow gpwa member would be so bold and ignorant at the same time to take advantage of another.
Im Glad to see you have come full circle. Hopefully you can get back to where you were prior to the hijacking of your sites. Its obvious your honesty has played an important roll in your speedy recovery. All that networking paid off as they remembered the high level of integrity that you possess.
WTG and good luck in the future …

InactiveI just want to mention that neither of us were GPWA members at the time. And GPWA is unaware of these actions, so they are not at fault.

InactiveAntoine,
Nice job on the dotaffiliate.com website!
I have wondered about some of the other types of affiliate programs and your site answered those questions nicely.
I’ve tried the financial programs affiliate programs for car loans, mortgages and such but didn’t do as well as I would have liked. Now I see there are a few more options to look into.
It would be nice to see a section on the site that does a comparison between the various affiliate programs showing the returns versus marketing dollars spent.
Keep up the good work!
