InactiveThere are successfull affiliates using any one of these business models.
Do whatever you are best at is my advice. Outsource the rest to people who excel at the things you suck at.
You will be a lot more productive that way.
One big site or many little ones – I decided on one big one and I am happy. I know many others who have netwerks of smaller ones, and they are happy. It boils down to what you like to do – do you enjoy building and launching new sites, or do you like covering something in depth and build a big site? All of it works.

affmgrlistedtestMember6 small ones for me
Really small I guess.June 18, 2009 at 6:56 pm #801017
PqeqnjzvMemberI was given advice to not put all of your eggs in one basket and should therefore make more sites targeting other keywords and suchlike, but find that there is always something to improve on with just the one site I have!
I will stay tempted for a while and see what happens. There are some great URLs I keep coming up with that are available so… Onwards and upwards!!

InactiveWell, delegating is a hard nut to crack for all of us control freaks.
Admitting I suck at stuff isn’t so hard for me, I do suck at a lot of things. :tongue:The real problem with outsourcing is that there are a bunch of crooks out there too, and you have to be careful. Only one of my guys can actually access the server, and she has been with me for years. If you do outsource, make sure the person comes well recommended, check all recommendations.
You can also ask here for CAP members to suggest people to you, or ask if any of us ever did business with someone.

Great advice. That’s what I do. In the beginning I did not have the resources to outsource the things I did not like to do. Now, I can, which increases my enjoyment of my work day as well as makes me a more successful affiliate..

InactiveI agree with Dom – delegating is actually hard work for us control freaks. If I could delegate half the things I do I would have so much more time to do other things..
You do need to do your research though, and make sure that the person you’re delegating to actually can do the work as good, if not better than yourself, or you would have spent less time actually doing it yourself.
On another point, I would advise that if you’re planning to have more than one site, make sure you finish one before starting another. 35% of $0 is $0, so there’s no good having 20 sites that make nothing, compared to one finished site that will start bringing in a regular commission…

InactiveI agree with that. You shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket, but there’s no point having 10 sites that are not finished and not making you anything..
I think when one says don’t put all your eggs in one basket in this industry they are referring mainly to the amount of programs you promote.
For example I would recommend joining a handful of programs so that if one doesn’t perform for your traffic you can switch them up and see which brand performs best in each spot. That way you have options and are therefore not putting all your eggs in one basket :wink-wink
