Cosslinking between own sites cannot hurt as long as all sites are on different IP’s and servers right?

Cross linking is cross linking, regardless of whether it’s different IPs and different servers. Having the same IP/server just makes this kind of thing easier for Google to pick up on.
My own experience is that you can cross link some domains without problems, providing Google doesn’t feel that you have built the link reputation of your sites by linking from other sites that you own.
cross linking will not hurt if you are on the same IP.
it will not give you the benefit though as it would if you were on different IPs.
