InactiveNot that scary, we’ve been here before and it never makes it.
No one even lobbies against the house passing it.
Not so the senate, there the lobbies kick in.

InactiveDominique,
I surely hope you are right. The things in our favor are:
1) History may surely repeat itself;
2) Not enough days in Senate session to even draft similar legislation;
3) Yes, Senate is a tougher nut to crack, and lobbyists will come out
full forceThings not in our favor are:
1) Flailing Republican party is looking to do everything it can to make itself
look moral, after the disastrous run it has had the last 8 years. This,
of course, all before elections;
2) Online Gaming has grown considerably since 2002 and 2003 (last defeats),
and this may raise the “level of urgency” to “do something” now, as
opposed to “waiting another year”;
3) Senate may try to “append” legislation onto another bill that is slated
for passage, in a last ditch effort to get it done this year.Ulcer time !

InactiveIf I may be so bold. What lobbying do you mean? What lobby group will be there from the Casino Affiliates? None! They saw this law tried and tried again but cared not to form ANY lobby. Suffer the consequenses. Lose 50% of your base with a stroke of the pen. This is NOT election year window dressing. They have been wanting this for some time. I, for one, am not hiding my head in the sand on this one. Time to diversify.

InactiveActually, there are too many groups lobbying and publicizing details about lobbying is not a good idea so no one will. I hope.

InactiveThis is only one step, and they’ve done this twice before.
This has been going on for years.There is no reason to get excited.

InactiveIf Partygaming and 888.com used 1-2 Million dollars of the billions they have
and used them for Lobby US Senate
The bill would then never passIt would also be a good investment because if online gambling gets banned 888.com and party will lose billions in future.
Few $Million $ in Lobby could make HUGE diffrence
I would be happy promote 888.com and party some more if they did.
Its should be fight back time:fencing:

No, this combination of events has never occured before.
It would be foolish to turn your back on this when it impacts (on average) 50% of your income.July 16, 2006 at 1:08 pm #698825Anonymous
InactiveIt would probably affect 90%-95% of the average webmaster’s income…

InactiveI suspect that if you were forced to take down your sites and stop sending traffic that many of the programs would sadly renege on our lifetime residual income. So yes, if you were a USA affiliate I would guess it would be at least 90-95% of your income.
