Just received email to my unique heaven affiliates email address, from a new program “hotshot poker”.
So did you sell my address to them, or did they hack your system and steal your affiliate database? :madat:
or… if you are working with them or they are in fact a part of HA, then why is there no mention of HA in the email? If that’s the case, then say it, otherwise it’s just unsolicited email and will go straight in the trash.
April 24, 2009 at 6:07 pm #799048neophyteMemberthe email was sent from vicki @ pokerheaven, as u can obv tell by the from address
I asked vicki about the program on IM, – she replied to my query. then I asked her what the commission was and she ignored me for 20 mins and went offline. GOOD ONE POKERHEAVEN.. SUCH PROS.
yeh it is a bit spammy too.. we didn’t sign up to the pheaven scheme to get bombarded with crappy other products ldo.
April 24, 2009 at 7:18 pm #799052tonywangMemberWell in the email I received, the FROM line says “Vicki at HotShot Poker Affiliates”, but it’s true that if you look closer at the email headers then it does mention pokerheaven, but I don’t see that information by default so there’s no way I would know they’re connected without opening up the email headers… I guess it depends on your email program, some people may see more information by default.
In any case, if hot shot is part of pokerheaven as seems to be the case, why is there absolutely no mention of it in the email? Who’s the genius that decided to make it look like unsolicited email, when in fact a simple mention of HA at the top of the email would have made the situation clear. I get SO MANY unsolicited emails from affiliate programs every day, the last thing any sane program should do is send a cross-program promotion with no mention of how they obtained permission to contact me! Otherwise it goes straight in the trash with all the other unsolicited mail I receive every day!
Well that’s my rant for today
ps. screenshot showing that my email program doesn’t show pokerheaven in the From line :
April 27, 2009 at 3:31 pm #799143yaya123MemberI am affiliate manager at HotShot Poker and just saw this thread – Apologies for any confusion, we’ve been working with several different groups to help us with our initial launch phase, one of which is Heaven Affiliates.
I know you guys get a lot of spam, from a lot of indifferent sites, and that was not our intention. I hope and trust that once you take a look at the HotShot offer, including our launch promo, commission rates, rakeback rates and software, you will feel we are of high enough quality to warrant our approach. If you have any questions (including commission rates or rakeback) I can assure you I’ll answer you ASAP!
Please feel free to drop me a line at phil@hotshotpoker.com anytime.
April 27, 2009 at 4:40 pm #799147neophyteMemberHm, so It seems like pokerheaven [among others] are selling access to affiliate database mailing lists, or are doing the mailing for third parties for a fee.. Is this correct?????
April 28, 2009 at 9:15 am #7991661WincomparatorMemberSorry for the confusion. They are separate companies, but part of the same group.

Totally ridiculous statement. Like SPAM is ever justified regardless of the product. Grow a brain IMO.
