InactiveThat is strange. I wonder what the point of it is? My sites aren’t listed…. Darn. :tongue:

InactiveMy guess is that it’s been created to reflect a FFA page, so the website listed would loose their SE ranking…

InactiveIs it really possible for competitors to sabotage your site´s ranking?
It sounds very wierd. If yes, every site would be sabotaged?I noticed, a few weeks ago, that some dic***ad added links to some of my sites at a pornblog. I don´t think I can get penelized by something like this, I´m not linking back to that type of site.

InactiveFFA = Free For All
They used to be popular and were a way for spammers to harvest email addresses. What happened is that people would prey on unsuspecting webmasters who would pay $30 or so for a service that claimed to submit a website to thousands of search engines. Those search engines were FFA pages. Those pages automatically added the newest link at the top of a page. Search engines started penalizing webmasters for doing this, and a lot of sites were banned.
If you ever hate someone and want to piss them off, sign them up for some ffa links, their email address will be flooded within a day.

InactiveWaz, I think the idea of having your site penalized for having suspect links pointing to your site is overexagerated. The SE’s know that if sites could be banned for inbound links it would be abused within a day. Then again nobody really knows how they work.
For those with they’re links listed, are your sites either:
- New
- Ranking high for competitive phrases
- Suffered any major loss in rankings lately
- any other strange things that have happened to your site
It seems only MSN has picked the page up so maybe it’s someone testing the new algo.
Either way I don’t like my site being listed.

InactiveThe Captain’s site is there – it’s not new and likely was ranking nicely and lately isn’t – is that right Alan? I may be confusing it with someone else’s.

InactiveHey Dom,
Yes, my site is listed there. My rankings for CFC are okay as usual. It was a couple of my other lower traffic sites that Google move way down. Still, I don’t understand what this individual is trying to accomplish.September 13, 2006 at 2:26 pm #705862Anonymous
InactiveWell, dont ask me! I had nothing to do with it!:tounge2:
