InactiveThis is apparantly an attempt by the chinese govt. or something to take down the evil western empire by copying as much content as possible on the internet and hoping that the se’s ban everyones sites as a result.
It is adviseable to block these morons by .htaccess, or do like I did and have your hosting company use apache to block them from everything on the server.
Their IP Address is: 202.96.140.119
For .htaccess use:
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from 202.96.140.119
Allow from allHere’s a more detailed thread on the subject at SEO-Guy Forums:
Chinese company 1bu.com stealing the webworld
Pretty scary stuff….

InactiveIF this is an evil plot as you have stated – then why should we all have to do anything at all? Why dont the SE’s ban this site … seems easier to nab them than the entire western civilzation :woo-hoo:

InactiveArkyt – I agree, we shouldnt have to do anything, it should be up to the se’s to take care of this. I don’t know the exact nature of this matter and am only commenting on what I have read. The fact is, they have hit about 148,000 pages (according to google) so far and I would rather cover my own ass now than wait for the se’s to do something.
Hopefully the matter will resolve itself.

InactiveIt appears to be a proxy server. My guess is that the object here is to provide access to sites which have been blocked by the Chinese government.
Since I can’t read simplified Chinese, I can’t say for sure – but judging by the version of my site it pulled up, it’s live and acts exactly like a proxy does – only filtering out a few things like Flash.

InactiveA copy of my site is appearing in the Ask Jeeves search results. :cuss:
Duplicate content is the biggest worry from what I can see.

InactiveMight still be wise to ban the IP, especially if you don’t serve Chinese content.

InactiveWhat will people come up with next?
My site seems a perfect replica, with recent updates and all.
Have they hit all kinds of different topics or is it confined to certain industries?

InactiveI’m pretty sure it’s just a proxy. That is, when a site is requested through it, what you’re seeing is straight from the original site, through their filter.

InactiveYes – It does look like a proxy.
If you search google with the following search, it will show all the sites they have nabbed.
inurl:1bu.com

InactiveThe translated version of their website:
The number of copied sites is mindboggling – 156,000
