InactiveExcellent post! I usually just randomly crack-up/smile thinking about past experiences, mainly stupid things I’ve done (which are countless). I’m not sure it falls into the things I’ve “loved” category but still really random & can make me look very odd in a social setting. I have to consciously hold myself back sometimes in social situations from breaking out in laughter when past idiocies of mine pop into my mind. I went to Mexico a few months back & I did catch myself smiling thinking about my cats (I was missing them & their antics). I have laughed out loud several times just thinking about my cats. Those little monsters are very cool & do some pretty funny shit :roflmao:

Not quite the exciting, TV-ad-like thrill of a superior haircare product, but it fills the empty gaps in my life

Mate, this is EXACTLY what i’m talkin about… Sometimes I will be sitting at my desk thinking of something funny that I did, or that someone else did, and I just laugh so hard I’m in tears.. And everyone asks what I’m laughing at, but it just wouldn’t be funny if I told them. I do the same when I’m walking down the street…
I had coffee with this guy a couple of months ago, and he went inside to pay.. I was sitting outside, by myself at the table, and noone was around.. I thought of something funny and started laughing so hard.. He came out and was like ‘WTF are you laughing at?!’ and I just couldn’t answer because it wouldn’t have been funny to him.
For example, this ‘Motivational Poster’ : http://media.ebaumsworld.com/2008/01/MONDAYS.jpg
EVERY time I see this, I am crying so hard that I’m laughing… and when I try to explain it to people without them seeing it, I start to laugh that hard again, and they just don’t find it funny…

InactiveYou aren’t alone, Renee! I do this sometimes, too.
This week, I’ve been smiling and laughing at odd times, over one of the goofiest things…
The other day, my fiancee brought a carnation home from work (there was a cancer-fighting fundraiser going on, so she bought one). I put the flower into this glass that the guys at Referback gave me at the Hard Rock Cafe in Barcelona (thanks again Referback). We set the flower on the counter in the kitchen and went to bed.
The next morning, as I’m laying there still sleeping, my fiancee gets up and goes into the kitchen and screams, “THE FLOWER!!”
I jump up and run to the kitchen, and I see that the flower is in pieces all over the counter, and the stem is still sticking out of the glass. One of the cats had bitten the flower off while we slept, and then he/she tore the flower apart.
I looked at the stem again, all alone in the glass, with the end kind of chewed and shredded, and I started cracking up. For some reason, the image of the lone stem in the glass, flower missing, is hilarious to me. That, and my fiancee screaming “THE FLOWER!” as if the flower was on fire or something… :rollover:
I know, I’m insane. :roflmao:
The next day, she bought 3 more flowers, and we put them in a place that is much harder for the cats to reach. So far, so good….

InactiveI smile while thinking about past experiences all the time. What I can’t figure out is why do people think you’re weird if you walk through a shopping mall smiling, but it’s ok if you’re frowning?

I have had that happen a few times as my girlfriend and I always try to embarass each other in supermarkets and their checkouts.
Without me noticing, she put in about 4 boxes of condoms – I was quite embarassed when empting the basket!

You know, this is something that bugs me… If I have been angry, and walking through a shopping centre because I’m trying to do some retail therapy, the smile doesn’t come until AFTER the purchasing…
So walking around with a shitty look on my face, I have actually had people on more than one occasion tell me to smile… and I have to admit, being in the shitty mood i was in, wasn’t in the mood for happy people to be telling me what to do, so turned around and told them my [ insert relative here ] just died and to fuck off… The look on their face made me laugh enough.
[ PS Sorry if there is any offense taken there ]

Wouldn’t it be more embarrasing if she put something like genital freshener in there or something?
