InactiveIf you want to sell portals that have mostly US players you can do so – but prices will be low.
Krystall has it pretty straight I think.
Right now it’s an unstable market and it can change prices from hour to hour.
My guess is that they are going to freefall after the bill is signed and recover extremely slowly as solutions are found.

InactiveHow much would a very nice site full of content with PR3 but barely launched be worth now then?

Inactiveand check alexa
archive.orgsomeone should make a algorithm for this,
including all the factors, like
pagerank, backlinks, how old the site is, visitors, revenue per month, etc etcOctober 6, 2006 at 12:01 am #710212Anonymous
InactiveMost all site prices are based on past revenue and search engine rankings. Most buyers are buying more than just the sites, they are buying the affiliate accounts.
A new site will be worth basically face value, design, contents, domain url, probably $1000 and up if no rankings & revenue.

I also dont think dominique sold her affiliate accounts; maybe I shouldnt think that?

InactiveThere really should be a delete message option on here.

InactiveSorry, but deleting messages in the middle of threads often results in nonsensical discussions, so we have a “no delete” policy.
You can edit your posts though.

Inactiveand forfeiting any personal property. The interpretation of the law is ALWAYS the Governments option. Who wants to become the first scapegoat? You willing to put up your freedom and wealth to fight the Government???? The value is ZERO! The only sane approach to a purchase is for the pagerank/search engine rank value of the site. Change the sites content and go from there. Have you “read” this law? I think it’s a good idea, then formulate your plan of action.

In that case, value would not be from page rank/search engine rank solely.

Inactiveelgoog wrote:http://leapfish.com/index.phpThanks elgoog.. I learn new thing from you today.. couldn’t stop placing domains there… then found everytime it gives a different value for the same domain… but cool tool I must say.. I also think it doesn’t do any justice with some well known domains… :shhh:
I’ll be interested if anyone wants to contact me to sell his site, I have few people who are contacted me asking if one of my affiliates wants to sell I told them only for those who are willing to pay high price, :hehe: so if you want to give it a try, I’m willing to help. or if it such a good site I may buy it myself… :rasta:
And guys, if you are interested of selling sell now, if not go offshore and host it outside of the US, don’t wait to do things after Bush sign the Bill. I personally think better to do something now than “wait and see” as if he’ll sign.. (God forbidden) with all the panic of everyone selling or doing something hasty you will most likely lose the value of your site.
Cheers,

InactiveI am seeing 3 – 4 months income.

InactiveI don’t believe that personal revenue has anything to do with the value of the website. $200 is a fair average CPA amount to value a site by, given that the site is sending a minimum of 50 RMP per month.
This is what I feel to be a fair formula:
(((Past 3 months total RMP / 3) * (1 + monthly growth+ or decay- percentage)) $200) * (12)
Obvious other factors to include are PR, age of site, incoming links, advertising expenses, and quality of traffic.
Hope that helps,
