Shame on you GSN!!! Have these programs NOT learned anything from the past? What does signing up for life mean anymore? When did this rule get made, because I never seen it before.

We also were not paid either by them this month, what a bunch of jerks!

Since they were taken over by vegas partners there has been a steady decline. I for one am not surprised.

    Send your players elsewhere !

While I can understand that they want you to promote them (who doesn’t?!), this term gives me the impression that an affiliate is merely a marketing tool, not a partner.

When you consider that you can send a player to most other programs and get a “life” deal with no strings, it doesn’t do anyone any favours. It’s not a good term for affiliates just starting out where every player is precious and signups are fewer that’s for sure. Additionally it overlooks the fact that some more “established” sites aim for player value rather than player quantity. One player every 3 months who deposits $100 for a bonus is way less valuable than 1 player every 12 months who drops $5k. $1k even.

I get a few players at GSN from time to time, but the site I send them from is a factual “comparison” site rather than a “promotional” site, so if they compare favourably, they will get the players. Seems sensible to me. To be fair, they’ve never forced this rule on me, but I’ll be very put out if they ever do.

It’s good that they don’t enforce it very often. But they can do anytime. And after the Fortune/Referback/VPL fiasco last year, and 888’s antics more recently, I’m not nearly as trusting as I was. And all that made me realise that affiliates are a necessary evil in many casino’s eyes.

They’ll need to lose this rule pronto if they want to compete with the more popular groups IMO.

    Cheers

    Simmo!

PS. Suntou…sorry you got done over like this, even if was legitimate. But thanks for the heads-up and hopefully it’ll be a learning experience if nothing else.

That is disgusting, without you they would not have the player that is making them money, they need to share the profits with their partners.

On the other hand, no big loss, I send them players every month and I don’t make any money either.

I use their free games, I should take them out and use Wagershare’s instead.

Although I think they have such an objectionable clause too. bad%20news.gif

I find this very odd that they would drop an affiliate that has signed up a purchasing player in the past but hasn’t signed up any in the past two months. Oddly enough, I have been promoting them for 4 months and haven’t signed up any purchasing players to this date and they haven’t dropped me yet. It doesn’t seem right that they would drop someone who has made them money in the past, and has the potential to make them money in the future, but allows someone who hasn’t made them any money at all to continue to promote them. Perhaps I should drop them before I do get a purchasing player since it’s hit and miss in this business. With my luck I’d get a whale and then no one for 3 months and they would be laughing all the way to the bank. I’d just assume let some other affiliate have that player.

On a similiar note, one of the programs I promote I noticed in their T&C’s (and yes I do read them) there was nothing to be found regarding a family member or for that matter even the affiliate himself registering and purchasing on that affiliates tag. When I brought this to the attention of my affiliate manager because a family member of mine was going to sign up through one of my sites I was told basically ‘it’s ok to do it now but we can revoke it later’. I DON’T THINK SO! Needless to say I told that future player to sign up somewhere else because it would only piss me off later because I know how much money they dump in online gambling a month. So someone out there has picked up a good player this month.:terms:

Another predatory clause, when will they learn that affiliates are their life-blood, if the piss on us, they cease to have any new players altogether. Well, at least after enough of us catch on to the fact.

This cheeky cause is totally unacceptable. Suppose an affiliate signsup them a whale, the whale is a regular big player, if they want to shave it, easy to do, i.e. if you can not bring them a new purchasing player within 3 months, all your past purchasing players referred, even these purchasing players are making them money now, will be shaved completely. They own all purchasing players you brought them without paying you a dime. You just get nothing.

I would rather lead my valued traffics to other casino affiliates programs who treat me as a long-term partner, not a business tool to be kicked down the ladder.

Shame on you GSN. Down Down GSN.

Guys this is the first I have heard of GSN taken this heavy handed approach towards motivating affiliates to provide additional exposure.

I am moving this to the GSN area for a response and will be following up with them for clarification.

    Hi All,

We view our active Affiliates as valuable Partners and will continue to strengthen and grow such relationships. We will also strive to encourage and assist any dormant Affiliate to improve their site in a manner which is mutually beneficial and conducive to generating new purchasing players.

We have had a positive response from a few dormant Affiliates who received our letter, as a consequence of having not generated any new purchasing players, and who have expressed an interest in working together with us, so as to improve their site in a way that is beneficial to both parties.

We truly apologize to Sun, for having erroneously reflected your account as one which did not generate any new purchasing players; we have since paid you your commission for July 2006 and once again apologize for the error.

Should there be any queries regarding the above, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.

    Kindest Regards

    Kate

You should get rid of that clause. It is abusive and in my opinion, theft of comissions owed.

If I send you a player, I expect you to pay me my rev share for the life of the player, regardless of whether I send 100 players a week or zero.

Without me you would not have the player and would not generate any $ from him.

You need to pay for services rendered.
