The GoldenStar Network has, unfortunately, not only re-enacted their predatory term that we worked so hard to remove, but has made it even worse than it was initially
OLD TERM – WAS APPROVED wrote:8.4. Should You not refer a minimum of 1 (one) New Real Purchasing Customer for a consecutive 3 month period, the Affiliates Player Referral Commission will revert back to our base commission percentage of 25%. The Affiliates account will not be terminated under these circumstances and the Affiliate will continue to be paid a commission, albeit at a lower rate, for the Life Time of such players.NEW PREDATORY TERM wrote:8.4. Should you not refer a minimum of 1 (one) new real purchasing player for a consecutive 3 month period, your account will be terminated with immediate effect, and the commission earned to date of termination will be paid to youin full, no further commissions will be payable after this .If you are promoting GSN, you might want to re-think. This term will be applied on a ‘case by case’ basis and IS retroactive apparently according to our contact at GSN.
It is too bad that we worked so diligently with Kerryn to get this term improved ONLY to have it get worse with this revision (than it was originally).
February 20, 2008 at 3:34 am #761315AnonymousInactiveThis is a real shame and beyond me why a program would think it is perfectly acceptable to use these strong arm tatics with their very own partners…
February 20, 2008 at 6:47 am #761323LucretiaMemberKwblue,
I am shocked to see these terms really excist, not very pretty. “players for life” should be redefined IMO.
Is Vegaspartner following its sister soon, I would not be surprised if they did?
I think it is time for me to reconsider their top banner positions on my sites.
You grow old with them if you want to retire early.
Are these terms normal? Which group(s) have them too?
Most helpful post kwblue, keep up the good work!:hattip:

Vegas Partner was never reviewed at AGD, but I did check out their terms and they have an identical term.
TERMS wrote:i) Should you not refer a minimum of 1 (one) new real purchasing player for a consecutive 3 month period, your account will be terminated with immediate effect, and the commission earned to date of termination will be paid to you in full, no further commissions will be payable after this. This term dates back to January 2004, so has been in effect for a very long time. We will review their terms and mark them predatory as well since the company is unwilling to change the terms and become affiliate-friendly (unlike just about every other affy program in the industry).
Bad business IMO.
February 20, 2008 at 2:32 pm #761350AnonymousInactiveI am in talks with Conrad about this everyone and hopefully we can get this changed asap!
February 20, 2008 at 2:47 pm #761351AnonymousInactiveWow.
GSN and Vegas Partner — what the **** are you thinking? These terms are highly predatory, and no affiliate in their right mind will bother with your program with such crap in place.
Affiliates — I strongly suggest that you don’t work with GSN and Vegas Partner anymore. If you do, then you’re supporting their unfair, predatory practices. The revised terms are predatory, for sure, but the fact that they are also retroactive is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Frankly I’m surprised that Vegas Partner is doing something like this again. Didn’t they learn anything in 2005 when they and a few others tried to implement retroactive T&Cs? :banger:
This is completely unethical — you can’t just steal our players if we don’t send as many “new” players as you’d like.
It should not matter how many players I send — if they are still making deposits, you WILL pay me a percentage of their losses until they stop making deposits. End of story. Anything less is a breach of contract.
If this matter isn’t resolved by the end of the week, I will be blacklisting all GSN and Vegas Partner properties.
February 20, 2008 at 3:28 pm #761358LucretiaMemberWhere does GSN “Perfecting Partnerships” stand for anyway?
I WILL remove GSN plus VP casinos from my sites if it will not be resolved to our satisfaction by the end of the week.
Steve warned me about them and I did not listen now I will get burned……just like he experienced in 2005. Once you make money you go downhill.
Let’s convince them that they made a VERY wrong move.

RickFebruary 21, 2008 at 10:40 am #761434playlivebingoMemberHello Everyone,
Following the conversation I had with Bonustreak yesterday, we called a meeting of both
groups this morning. What I can tell you now, is that the terms for both groups have been
revised and altered. Although I am unable to quote the exact term yet, our copywriters
are still adding the final touches.Once I have the final draft of the new clause, I will post it here for everyone to view.
I really believe that the new clause works in the interests of both parties, and ultimately
will lead to our relationships being mutually beneficial. Please understand that the previous clause on Vegas Partner dates back to 2004,
and having said that, I believe as part of best business practices a company should
review it’s terms and conditions on an annual basis, which we will be doing to
ensure that not only does it falls in line with company policy but that it protects
everyone’s interests.I would like to apologise for the alarm caused, and I would like to think that once
everyone has read the new clause we can put this unfortunate incident behind us
and focus on the future.February 21, 2008 at 11:04 am #761435playlivebingoMemberPost deleted, I will repost the term once KWBlue has given the okay on the term.
My apologies but I was a bit hasty to get this in circulation.
Please could everyone that did receive the notification, refrain from
posting it anywhere. I would like to ensure that only the very final
copy is re-posted here.Thank you for your co-operation
February 21, 2008 at 12:57 pm #761442AnonymousInactiveThe term is placed before our board for certification. Thank you for contacting us on this important issue.
I will contact you when every member has had a chance to weigh in on the amended term.
Thank You.
February 21, 2008 at 2:39 pm #761451playlivebingoMemberHi KWBlue,
Thank you for that.
I would like to take the opportunity to stress that the amended term
is not final and we would appreciate any feedback regarding said term
and that we would like to work together with you in having this finalised.I have no doubt that we will eventually have one that is suitable for
both affiliates and us as an affiliate program.I look forward to hearing back from you.
February 21, 2008 at 6:24 pm #761485AnonymousInactiveThank you Conrad for the fast response on this matter.:wavey:

February 22, 2008 at 1:23 am #761522AnonymousInactiveI’m pretty sure that Vegas Partner does not enforce the term, otherwise my affiliate account would have been closed a year ago due to inactivity.
In fact I don’t think GSN enforces it either, but I stopped promoting them after realizing that their stats don’t update and the problem has been going on for at least a year.
February 22, 2008 at 3:09 am #761525AnonymousInactiveMy opinion is that if they don’t plan to enforce it, the clause should be removed from the T&Cs. If it stays in the T&Cs, they can enforce it if they want to, somewhere down the road.
