InactiveI would just like to add for everyone that wants to be more educated on how things are done in the blackhat world, have you ever considered joining a blackhat site?
It’s what I did – joined two in the last 3 weeks and I have learned more so far than I ever thought possible. Things are starting to make sense and I’m getting an understanding of HOW they do what they do and what to look out for. Extremely interesting, I can’t stop reading – I ask a ton of questions and they are more than happy to answer all. :woo-hoo:

InactiveBeing educated is one thing, understanding and finding the time to do anything about it is quite another.
I have been there done that, no knowledge gainned. Ask them this, what is the fundamental flaw in unix that makes HTML so exploitable. Ask them for part of the buffer overflow code yahoo experienced in 1996 shutting it down.

InactiveFurthermore, I am against Blackhat/seo. In early August I attended the annual hacker convention in Vegas. The blackhats, hackers, and malicious hackers were all there. The atmosphere was pretty anti social as anyone would expect from this type of event.
The first assignment of the day was to find bugs in the soon not to be released windows vista. The first group to crash it was from the blackhat community. Took maybe an hour. So it is back to drawing board for vista. The black hatters in the context I am using them in have contributed to the advancement of the internet,
that I repsect. But the blackhat/seo community do something entirely different steal by exploiting anything they can get there hands on. They even end up exploiting each other “oh sorry Chuck just scraped your site.”
So I do draw the distinction here between the two groups. My mentor is Eric S Raymond sit down one night and take a good read and tell me who knows what.
