vladcizsolMemberGood question. I have never personally targeted that market but its my understanding through speeking with programs that Greeks do enjoy gaming and they are particularly fond of skill games like Backgammon or Rummy for some reason.

InactiveI believe they are big sports bettors as well – There are definitely some very bigh Greek affiliates that come to CAP Euro so well worth pursuing – One of the articles below that I found mentions that Greeks gamble 16 billion Euros a year legally and illegally and one of their big gambling times is new years eve and Christmas so you have aroudn 10 months to get your player base up :hattip:
From what I just read in 5 mins it looks similar to the Dutch set up with OPAP (Greek Organization of Football Prognostics) having a monopoly on the market but the EU is putting pressure on them as is Will Hill so I am sure this will change – Apparently it is likely to be denied at first but will then be taken to a higher court and like Italy they will be told they can use criminal law to keep out competition
A few articles on the market are

InactiveLittle bit more after I probed an operator earlier – it isn’t really a poker market at all as they have their own version they play which isn’t online. Much more sportsbetting and then casino – Also as prof said big backgammon market – Probably worth speaking to Play65 and Prime re that
Another problem there is payment mechanisms as apparenly it is pretty difficult getting money in and out

InactiveThank you for the info,
I registered a few international greek domains to work with at some point.. one is
κασίνο.com

Καζίνο.com would have been sweet but taken…
We shall see how the EU will affect online gambling in Greece. The market is so… well unpredictable might be one way of looking at it!

InactiveWhat does that mean?

drRobertHMemberThe point with greek markets is that it is now easy to get them from usual illegal offers in their cafes and clubs to internet gambling, because the biggest part of people just don’t trust to online gambling. It’s often much harder then for example former Yugoslavia countries (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro) where you have allready legal working offline shops, who started to show their odds online so people get more and more in touch with internet and gambling as a connection, so often you can move them to internetgambling.

Actually Καζίνο is Cazino and κασίνο is casino, so casinotime looks like you got the right one.
If you’re looking for some casinos to promote, most of our casinos are available in Greek and I am more than happy to have some custom banners made for you. Just let me know
