InactiveThey were going down the drain way before the pullout, the closing off the new usa players just fast tracked the death of this program. It is a shame because there are so many players that love their casinos.

InactiveI was attacked a couple weeks back when they first started talking about people closing programs. as far as i recal, Grand Prive said that back it was closing the program to US affiliates, effectively stealing non-US player bases, when they announced US pullout.
As i said back then, shutting the program, keeping the players and opening a new program is clearly a strategy to steal the remaining player base from the affiliate accounts. This is breach of contract for any organization that offered “your player for life”

InactiveIt is plain and simple what is happening here. They have a UK white listed casino. Regardless of whether they close the caisnos or not, they will market the new casino to the database, which includes players sent by us affiliates.
The new casino needs to be blacklisted high and low.
Luckily we sent them very little traffic but this is unacceptable.
PS can someone who deals with GP get confirmation that the casinos are in fact shutting down – it’s not clear at this time.

InactiveI think it’s safe to say the casinos will probably NOT close – but continue with existing players, and getting new ones by sending out snail mail, waiting for players to post their links on our forums for free advertising..
I really don’t feel bad about any of the past bitching I’ve done about Grand Prive and Villa Fortuna have NO CHANCE of being on my sites, even though I guess being a non-USA affiliate would give me possibly more players (except all those I already sent and they’ve referred to Villa Fortuna and left me out of!).
If only we could go back to the ‘although not perfect’ , but a lot better ‘ReferSpot’ days eh

I’ll be making sure all the domains for Grand Prive Casinos are removed from my forums and auto-spammed/junked – they will rely on those that don’t maintain their sites to market from now on ..
I do feel sad for the individuals affected but as far as Grand Prive – good bye and good riddance lol

If that is the case, they will be blacklisted.

BUT WHAT ABOUT OUR INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS????? They were never going to be taken out of the picture, and we should still get paid..”FOR LIFE” for whatever revenue they generate…But Grand Prive is now going to keep all of that money because they are closing us..the affiliates out.
THIS IS BREECH OF CONTRACT!!!!!
I was just about to ask the same thing but you beat me to it, I am soooooo peeved!!!

Yep, BUT if you are an affiliate in the US then you can’t even join the new program.
This is very dissappointing.

Where did you see this? And what new program can’t you join? Villa Fortuna? I am an affiliate already of Villa Fortuna. I didn’t see anything mentioned in the email about allowing only Non-U.S. affiliates into any program.
I did see this:
Villa Fortuna Affiliates is open to all non-US business (Canadian and European especially) and offers the latest Affiliate Program platform from Microgaming.
But that’s referring to players not affiliates.
Is there going to be another program that they haven’t announced yet? I’m confused about all of this.

Well, I was under that impression, but I could be wrong. Either way they can expect to never see a banner on any of my sites after this.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was reading that email today.

InactiveOne disappointment after another lately. Makes it kinda hard to get outta bed.
No matter if the GP casinos stay open or shut one thing is for sure… ALL Villa Suckuna properties are BLACKLISTED on ALL our websites for breaking contractual agreements and theft.

InactiveThis makes me take into consideration the idea that CPA is preferable in some cases.
And also that there’s something wrong in this affiliation business if all we can do is “not promoting them anymore”.
If they don’t respect the rules that they set, why writing terms and conditions in first place? Wouldn’t it be better to write “we pay commission for players lifetime but we can change our mind eventually”.November 22, 2008 at 5:27 am #787926Anonymous
InactiveGrand Prive is the worst affiliate program among all the microgaming affiliate programs.
And, I put Villa Fortune in my blacklist right now.
Congratulations! This group will go away from this industry.

voodoomanMemberI find it strange that Microgaming would now decide to ban all US players just when there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.
You will probaly see more of these smaller affiliate programs pulling the same stunt in the near future. A good time for them to clear out the closet and when the US market opens up again start afresh with a new affiliate programs and “brand new” unattached players.

InactiveIroncially, I received a CD in the mail today from an MG (villento I think. not really sure how they obtained my info). I threw it out. I stopped playing a couple of months ago.
