InactiveHi techwoman

I’ve had a concern about my stats for awhile as well. I was hoping that the problem would be resolved shortly after the transition to the new system, but it’s obvious that they still have some serious issues.
Thank you for posting this information. I’d like to see the reply as to what the heck is going on with the stats.

InactiveHi!!
Good to see you! I’m sorry that you are experiencing trouble with them as well.
I will surly post any info updates! This is a very serious matter and it seems lately with all the buyouts and affiliate programs turning to new stats systems lately we need to carefuly watch way too often!
For now this particular complaint is only related to tracking and not converstion. I say this because I seem to get the typical response that I need to send them more traffic. I will worry about conversions once the tracking is accurate. Once that’s working correctly the rest will follow. You can’t convert whats not tracking:sarcasm:
I hate when they doubt us:Cry:

InactiveThank you, Thank you, Thank you.!!
I have been complaining about this since the new site and have gotten the same answer. everything is fine!…crap it is.
My biggest complaint has been that since the new site has been up, all my old players have stopped playing?? i have only one old player playing and thats just not right. i had atleast 4 players that deposited on a daily basis for the past year or 2, and now there gone? and i have asked about this and asked about this, but with no good answer.

Exactly!!!!!
This is what has happened to me in addition to no tracking!!!!
I truly believe that since they touted this program for so long before its inception that they are NOT willing to admitt that there are bugs and that they messed up!
There needs to be more affiliate testing and proof submitted to them and posted publicly. They will keep on and on doing what they are until we can band together and let them know we know!
I loved ReferSPOT, they were one of my biggest earners, I could depend on a paycheck every month! I did right by them because they did right by me and now after years of making them tons of money this is what I get.
I always got along with Gordon and I am not saying this is his doing. He may only be saying what he is told to say and only allowed to see what they will let him see. I know I must remember he is THEIR employee and Im sure he wants to keep HIS job.

InactiveI too have been helping take a close look at the stats with Grand Prive.
My stats have not completly matched up with my own logs, but Meri’s is a greater degree of difference.
We have even done a few downloads using computers that we remote desktop into as a test, and in a few of the cases we have taken a look inside the exe to verify that the affiliate tag and campaign matches….and still the clicks/downloads do not show in her stats.
We are not trying to sit back and say shaving is going on or being perpetrated, but we are concerned that something needs to be done.

.
I probably missed something here but what does Referback have to do with your stats at GrandPrive?

Sorry about that it was a typo i meant “ReferSPOT” names are so similar and I’m sure that everyone else knew who I meant. I will go edit my post as to not confuse anybody else:Cry:

Most affiliate managers are not technicians … they’re front people. You say the stats don’t work – and offer a test.
He asks the technical team who take the briefest of looks and say they do work.
What more can Gordon realistically do?By providing the data you have – hopefully it gives further information for a more detailed look at their end – but Gordon will still be totally dependant on the technicians.
He can be scrupulously honest – and still not really able to help.
Tracking on the internet is fraught with compatibility issues.
– browser types and versions
– operating systems and versions
– cookie settings and spyware blockers (that often prevent cookies)I’m sure the stats work SOMETIMES.
Nailing down exactly whats going wrong here will be tough. And (unfortunately) the provider has no financial incentive to get it right – do they?
:Cry:Good luck TechWoman. You’ll need it.

InactiveHi Grooner!
yes I know I need luck with this one:Cry:
I figured once I showed Gordon some proof he might be able to get something going. i do understand that these aff managers are far from technical and can only relay what they are told.
I don’t expect to hear from him quickly because what’s good about him is that when he does reply to any querries he does so with some answers so I will just cross my little fingers:)
Im not being accusatory, this could actually be a problem that has not been identified as of yet by the tech team there and possibly my test could shed some light.

InactiveI get 1309 clicks and 24 downloads with 0 deposit player from June 2006.

InactiveI just got an email back from Gordon.
I guess you can say its good and bad news. I always struggle with myself when it comes to posting private emails between me and any other party. But, I just feel I need to let this be known. Every affiliate has a right to know what’s going on. If I don’t post this now, you may never be told.
If I post this now will I ever be treated fairly by Referspot again? I wasn’t told not to post it. In my notes that I emailed to Gordon I made it clear that I was posting the situation on both GPwA and Cap.
Here is his reply
Hi Meredith,
Thanks for the detailed view. This helps especially when trying to ‘spot the bug’ as it were.
It certainly is a lot to absorb at once, but my general impression relates to a call already logged with Microgaming, a call we’re already resolving with them at the moment.
I ask that you hold tight and we should have some answers from them soon.
Regards,
Gordonp.s. There’s just one thing I must also check with you, just in case you weren’t already aware. Plain text links e.g. http://www.bellavegas.com/?btag=me422854_aff_A=840_T=4_I=3_C=1437 do not record clicks i.e. only banners do at this stage
As you can see there is some Good news, they are recognizing a problem.
But you can also see what I meant by Bad news! Text links not tracking!! They have to be kidding! At this stage???????? Then why the hell are they offering them to us????
Here is my reply back to the above
Hi Gordon,
Thank so much for recognizing that there is some issue here
As for the plain text links I think you may be mistaken about clicks recording, my partner and I only ever use text links and his show and sometimes mine do as you can see.
If that were the case why would any show at all?
Why would you even offer text links if they don’t count?
If that were the case why did we not know this before?
I know that I would never have used them at all if I knew I was not going to get credit for them. I know that no webmaster in the world would use them if that were the case.
Maybe you are thinking impressions which I know would not be shown using text links.
Does this also mean the direct download links are not being recorded either? To me this is extremely hard to absorb, just to think that all this time my traffic has been just given away!
I know you don’t want to hear this but this new program is awful, it’s more of a mess than anybody wants to admit. It’s far from stable; in fact I don’t even think its good enough for beta use. A program that is so unreliable should not be used especially when it’s depended on for such crucial uses. I am a tech and would never put to use a program that I could not trust for accurate results.
Regards,
MeredithI really want to remain on good terms with them, I need to promote them but I also do need to have accurate reporting and recording just as WE ALL DO.
Please post if you are using ONLY text links and let us know if they are recording and showing up in your stats.
Thanks everyone, I hope this helps us all out:)

InactiveInteresting.
This may may be a “mis-speak” …
I know that most sites will not record IMPRESSIONS of text links – unless they’re also displaying a small 1 pixel by 1 pixel graphic at the same time. This makes sense.
But clicks and signups are recorded.
This may be an example of Gordon’s non-technical side coming out and describing something incorrectly ?
I hope that Gordon is simply incorrect is saying CLICKS and meant IMPRESSIONS.
Otherwise you’ve probably explained a major part of the mystery !!And Grand Prive would be extremely predatory in even allowing TEXT links to be generated if they did not record properly …
:Cry:I think that you did the right thing in posting this exchange …
Keep us informed please …

InactiveHe again told me today, Clicks are being tracked but not able to be displayed. Only the ones that pass through the Media Recorder which you will see those words in the code on a banner tag.
He assured me that if a player goes through a text links even though we don’t see a click they are being tracked.
I only ever use text links for any property I promote, they work for me in my own click tracking program.
I just told him if what he told me was the case that me and my boyfriend universal4 should have click stats at a zero from the time of the new program to now. Both universal4 and I have never used the banner codes only the text links and he and I have clicks showing. My click stats have not updated in a very long time (that’s where this problem started for me and my testing began). Universal4’s click stats have also recently stopped updating.
I keep trying to make that clear to Gordon, why are some showing text link clicks when he says they are not supposed to show? Please if anybody else here is using ONLY text links can you post if you are showing click stats and if so are they updating regularly?
I do believe Gordon is trying to get to the bottom of this I will keep you posted!
