    Hi Yashin,

I downloaded the Companion yesterday to find out what it’s all about. I see where players log in their account numbers, but what else is it for? Is there some advantage for players to download? Are loyalty points combined, or special promotions available?

Loyalty points can be combined through the companion that can’t be otherwise.

Promotions are offered and there’s a PIN (combination of letters usually) that you can retrieve from the companion to claim special match bonus offers if you’re eligible.

Personally, I login when I need to but don’t keep it running otherwise. For some reason my CGB isn’t working at all and I get $0 in Balance and 0 in Loyalty Points and it won’t hold my address info. either. The other casinos are fine.. but Grand Bay isn’t working right for me.

    Hi Amateur,

The advantages of Companion are that it gives players a centralized place from which they can view and “manage” all their Grand Privé accounts. The player can keep their details up to date, view the transactions that have occurred on the account, check up on the balances (both cash & bonus) in their accounts and, as Daera mentions, they are also able to combine loyalty points and to redeem them across accounts (e.g. you can redeem CGB points for bonus cash in your LP account). Additionally, they will also receive special promotions (should they qualify) that they might not otherwise receive.

Yashin is this the same thing as the Buddie Belle Rock had at one time? If so will this end up having the same neg impact on us affiliates as the Buddie? Meaning when a player first downloads say CGB and installs this “companion” will they then be enticed to download other casinos from there that are in the group and if so, will they be tagged to the affiliate at everyone of the casinos?

    Thanks

    Hi,

No, the player has to have an account number for each casino before he can receive any messages from that casino through Grand Privé Companion.

Bonustreak, once a player registers at any one brand in a group – there’s nothing to stop that group from cross-marketing to that player anyway. This is pretty much de rigueur for our industry and makes your question moot.

    Yashin

    Hi Yashin,

Quick question about cross-marketing at ReferSpot.

Say I refer someone to Lake Palace. Player spends $1,000, I take home $250.

Then, say ReferSpot cross-markets to that player (via email, for example) and invites him to play at Bella Vegas. Player spends $1,000….

Do I take home $250, or do I take home $0?

    Thanks in advance. :)

    Hi Dave,

The short answer to your question is “$0”.
This is based on the current system that we and all the other MGS operators have.

If you or anyone else is attending CAC- Las Vegas, please email me at support@referspot.com and I’ll gladly set up a meeting with you.

    Regards,
    Yashin

All other MGS operators? I don’t think so and that really sucks. If I have a player that loses $1000 at a casino, that should be my player. If you convince that player to play at another casino, without crediting me, that is stealing my player. If he likes the second casino better, and becomes a regular at it, then I have lost that player and you are still making money from my hard work of getting that player to your site in the first place.

    Hi Yashin,

I am a bit surprised by this answer. I always assumed that, if cross-marketing was taking place, affiliates would receive credit across the entire group of casinos. I thought this was the standard practice.

It isn’t fair for ReferSpot (or any other program) to cross-market to affiliate referrals without compensating the affiliate. Like Randy said — without the original affiliate referral, you wouldn’t even have that player to cross-market to.

    Yashin,

Kidd is correct. We’ve spent out time and advertising budget getting a player to you, and other MGS groups recognize this concept. The fact is that the income you derive from that player is directly the result of marketing efforts from us, and any email marketing from another casino in your group would not be possible without our having brought the player to you in the first player.

This is not the way to grow your program, and a change in your policy should be made to address this situation.

Let me add that in my Newsletter I planned to send out today, I intended to send out today, I wanted to feature the Grand Prive Companion and a blurb about each casino. However, I wouldn’t be getting anythig from such a feature, would I? Things like this make a great deal of difference to us, since we have to gear our efforts towards maximizing our return on time and money we invest. While continuing to inform our players on the best places to play. That’s my goal anyway.

    Hi,

The new system that we are rolling out in just over a month has lots of changes. We will be sending out a series of Newsletters to keep you apprised of these changes.

I certainly hope that your cross-marketing gets changed, then. I know for a fact that other MGS operators cross-market AND keep our affiliate link tied to those players.

I have players playing all over the Jackpot Factory casinos without any issues whatsoever.

    Hi,

I’d just like to emphasize that we cannot market to anyone if they have not signed up already at that brand. My answer was based on Dave’s question.

That is not true, because we just talked about them sending my late husband that $100 coupon and cd to Grand Bay, when he never had an account there at that casino, the only account he had which I told them to close when he passed away was at Belle Vegas. So you do market the players that are not signed up at certain casinos.

I was not a player at Lake Palace when it first opened yet I received an invite to join the casino.

You have always cross marketed players and gave the affiliate a big fat $0, and as you can see from others post this is not the norm, I was not trying to stir a ruckess I just had a simple ? about how this companion was going to work.

I am looking forward to dinner so we can talk more on this subject.

    Cheers!

Finally I have figured out why Referspot consistently underperforms.

I certainly hope you will introduce ethical xmarketing, Yashin, and soon, or I will need to send those players to a place that will take better care of them for me.
