Yahoo is probably the most commercialized search engine today because they even try to charge the sites for been indexed. Or display paid per click ads in SERPs.
The worth thing is that they charge you for so-called review of your site. The gambling sites are not accepted in neither basic submit no submit pro programs, however you may find several gambling sites that are accepted and listed. When I found slotsjam.com in the yahoo’s SERPs I desided to submit my slots site with similar content – slots reviews, slot-related news and rankings. The site was rejected and I was reffered to the “quality guidelines”. Similar sites – different results. But that’s not all. I tried PPC advertising on yahoo.UK My site was accepted and with a price of about $.5-$1 I was sent a lot of fake clicks from the same IP addressed without ref. URLs. 90% of the clicks each day comes from the SINGLE IP address, the rest comes from “networked sites” for queries like “online video” while I bid for “online video slot”… I have found a few clicks from yahoo.uk search queries but for irrelevant keywords that I have never bid for… Probably I should bid $18 per click to see quality traffic? Sorry, but I don’t sell drugs or p. pills

The traffic from yahoo has extremely low conversions but I’m only paying around .15 per click so I have kept it running and trying to remove the bad performing keywords. I’m starting to run out of keywords because they are all performing bad. I never had any problems with multiple clicks from same ip address and I track everything.
November 18, 2007 at 12:18 pm #754307egoistcheMemberThe conversion depend on the site and advertised offers. Yahoo traffic does convert for me but it’s hard to buy a lot of traffic for a reasonable price.
Rob,
How do you track conversions? By unique banner/ad ids for each keyword? Casinos will not add “yahoo conversion script” on their download page..November 18, 2007 at 4:58 pm #754324supervinceMemberWhen I said conversions I meant newsletter subscribers. There isn’t really any good way to track conversions on deposits unless you want to use 100 or more unique links per casino. I try to let my newsletter convert subscribers into players and track all click throughs and subscriptions.
