There’s no mystery if you believe in corporate greed.
This can go only one way in the long.

It seems SEO has been thrown out the window, and it’s hard to discern any kind of pattern to the way the SERPs are coming up.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHEN IS THE NEXT GENERAL UPDATE?

Some of my sites are being crawled continuously, others barely at all…

Firstly I dont think this had anything to do with SEO – zero, zilch, nada :)

Its more about google ceasing the oppotunity to bring in more monies via highly competitive search terms and adwords! 70% + of the previous top 100 sites for competetive terms have been pushed to the back of the line.

I have information that Google may currently be working on an update … lets cross our fingers that this was just a test gone bad and that we will soon return to the past :)

Great, Arkyt, My fingers are crossed too…I would love for the results to go back to what they were before…even 1/2 of what they were before…

The thing that really gets me, is that since PR came on the scene, everyone has been working on good quality link exchanges and all..BUT 3 out of 5 top links I clicked on for the term “online casinos” were not even ranked by google??

My thoughts are that this cant be a permanent thing and they should be working on a fix..because its the users that are in mind and not the webmasters. How did your first hear about google? from a website you say? well I did, one of those google search box’s that people put on their site..or a link.

If google stays with their current algo, it will only be a matter of time before people are recomending another search engine, and google will simply die away. Its happened before when altavista was number 1.

The fact is, when I used to type in “online casinos” I got results that were not only good, but I could spend some time on these sites and read some good information. Thats the thing that google prides itself on, providing good information. Now when I look at the sites (and no offence to anyone who may own one of them) 90% of them are shit…totally shit. Bonus and bannerfarm-ish sites.

The search results need to be good and strong with great info if uses are going to keep using google. And if they dont use google becuase of these crap results, google are not going to be able to sell adword space. I dont believe that there is enough info on the adwords to “steal” the visitors from the results because they look to be designed to “catch they eye” of a user.

I just wish that if it was a big F*%k up, they could be so kind to issue a press release to reasure people…yeah right :D

Just my thoughts of the moment

All I can say is that if it stays so that free sites are holding top positions, google will not hold top position for very long as the SE that everbody uses.

I would predict even two months in a row with results like that and they will lose a third to half of their traffic.

I know I would stop using them almost immediately if when I went on a search it gave me for the top results a bunch of free sites.

anybody that has been on the net for a while IMHO prefers a site that has a real domain name for an address; its just easier to believe the info that is on the page when you know that is at least cost the owner a little something to put it up there.

    just my opinion.
